Who was the assistant coach

That was called for unsportsmanlike conduct on that last drive?

My assumption is Wallace. He's fiery and talks like a sailor.

I was amazed that there was no discussion about it, or a replay. Nothing. Even before that happened, I thought that the broadcast was amateurish. There were several occasions where I was expecting a replay and some analysis, but nope.

And, the color guy stated more than once that Iowa's DBs had a rep for being "handsy" at the line of scrimmage. Huh? Iowa has played a cover-4 zone shell for years. The DBs are almost always 6-8 yards off the line. How can they be handsy if they only press at the LOS probably 5% of the time?

Yes it was Seth. Kirk said he just stepped over the line. 9 times out of 10 they give a warning. The way they called that game it was only matter of time before they pulled something out to give UsC the first down to run out the clock. Not that we’d have had much time regardless.

I'm not a consipiracy theorist but I did think the game was poorly officiated in general. Not just the missed face mask penalty. One other particular play was when their RB was tackled and got back up and the refs allowed him to continue another 3-4 yards. Replay showed he was down. I kept screaming for a replay but they just kept on as if there was no question. The B1G office has some explaining to do after this game, IMO.

Very large hands

So many little plays this weekend that simply added up to kill us. The missed facemask, the hit on Wetjen when he was out of bounds and the play was dead, their interception on a ball that was inches from hitting the ground and somehow deflects into the hands of a defender yards away, the fraction of an inch that Wetjen needed to stay in bounds on our final snap. It just sucks seeing it happen play after play and just not going our way in games that are determined in the final minutes. Not blaming the loss on the officials, as we dug our own grave and let a 2 possession half time lead slip away on our own, but our offense definitely could have benefitted from a few extra first downs to keep drives alive and our defense really could have benefitted from some extra time off the field.

It's just so painful to watch when we seem to be on the wrong end of those game defining plays. I'm starting to know how our other fan bases felt when we were the ones constantly finding ways to pull out the close ones.
