Who was guarding Richardson?

Didn't get to see the game, but his stats are a little disturbing?

Did we play zone, or was it mostly man?

Most of his 3's seemed contested, but he just didn't miss (well, he did once). It's just been that kind of a night all the way around. Iowa has outplayed Nebraska without a question. I am confident we will win at their place. We are the better team.

I agree. Kind of hard to beat any team who makes something like 10 of their last 11 shots and 10 of their last 12 fts. This one sucks b/c we are better than the Fuskers. Again, basabe and cartwright gave us next to nothing. That situation is getting beyond old.

I agree. I don't know where the Cartwright from last year went, but this year all he seems to be good for is turning the ball over. Basabe just doesn't even seem to show up most of the time. I can't figure out what happened with him.

If it wasn't a wide open three it was five guys watching someone drive right to the basket for a layup. Not sure I have seen a Big Ten team play defense this bad in awhile.

Yep. Gave up the baseline to the ballhandler A LOT. I do agree with the poster earlier who said that we did have a hand in the face of Richardson on most of his threes, though.

The only contested 3 I remember him hitting was when Basabe threw a hand up late. The rest of the times were either wide open or nobody was on him and then 2 guys would come running out late. A late run out like that isn't going to effect anyone hitting a shot unless they are an old lard like me and are afraid they are going to run into you.

Wow..I thought Iowa did fine on the offensive end. But giving up 79 to Nebraska? thats almost 2 games worth of scoring for them. Wowza.

No reason McCabe and White are not starting.

Ahhhh, McCabe has been starting. What games have you been watching?

I meant the duo together. Not replacing McCabe for White which I think has been done previously in the season.

Should have been more clear. Basabe sits.... White plays.

Gotcha. I like the rotation now. White gives us an offense and energy off the bench. With him starting, I don't think anyone else will have the kind of impact he does coming off the bench. Basabe certainly won't.

Gatens inability to make wide open 3's was a big reason for this loss. I love gatens as a player and a great Hawkeye, but he is relied upon to be their one good outside shooter and he missed 3-4 wide open 3's.

Cartwright is a turnover machine this year...not only did he have some bad turnovers, they lead to easy baskets on the other end.

McCabe played great...White played well...Marble played very well the 2nd half...Gatens and May were blah...Archie played very well the few minutes he was in...Basabe was non existent.

May did have an excellent block on that dunk attempt in the 1st half. The guy thought he had an easy dunk and it looked like may took one step and sent it back.
