UCONN vs Villanova and North Carolina and Virginia actually started at 11:00. Uconn leads by 3 at half while North Carolina is tied with UVA.

Wouldn't it be better for ISU to lose and free up a spot?
As of right now, every site I've seen still has them "in".

That's all I ask of any poster...or Iowa basketball player. That includes an outside shooter struggling with his shot this year; a really hard worker that has missed a few free throws in the Big Ten and doesn't always look for his shot...some say; any freshman playing his first season of college hoops in the toughest conference in the nation; and a talented player trying to come back from injury and get back to being the team leader...and starting to show some positive signs.

I'll try my best!

I'm not sure who to pull for between Carolina and Virginia. They are both bubble teams it seems.

I was thinking more of helping our RPI and quality wins for ISU. They still play Oklahoma and Baylor who are both bubble teams so if they can beat those teams and keep a good RPI that would help us.

Virginia is 18-6 (8-3) RPI 71 and UNC is 16-8 (6-5) RPI 35. If Virginia can win and UNC drops a couple more, UNC is out. I think Virginia is pretty much in with a win here.

Another thing that came out regarding the media selection day was favoring teams with big wins regardless of bad losses. Virginia is a perfect example of this. I think they still need 4 more wins. They still have to play Miami, and Duke.

Virginia is 6-0 vs RPI 100
but 6-5 vs. 100-200 RPI

I don't think Virginia is worth a poo and UNC hasn't played all the bad teams in the ACC yet. UNC with their RPI will be in the tournament anyway, don't see Virginia being in unless they can beat UNC.

Pulling for a team that needs to beat a team with a high RPI and hoping that team with the high RPI to lose a couple more games they shouldn't seems like a stretch.

Dayton up 12 on Xavier right now with 5 mins to play. Game is on espn2 right now.

Also Tennessee beating Kentucky 40 - 18 in the first half. Kentucky might be in some trouble after losing Noel for the season against Florida. A couple of more SEC losses would really hurt them.

True. I'm going to take it off. That game doesn't really impact Iowa now that I think about it more.

You can take if off but I'm pulling for NC. The committee will want them and they will likely have enough of a resume to make it. I want Virginia out of the equation. The committee will also want Kentucky but they are in serious trouble. They weren't all that good and lost their best player for the year. Every team in the SEC will want a piece of Kentucky when it's there to for the taking.

Why Dayton over Xavier as well? Keep in mind that VCU/Butler are tourney teams to begin with them leaving to go to the A-10 is bad for Iowa actually, can't have one of those lower teams past 5 or 6 having any hope.

Xavier winning is better for Iowa, given Dayton has an easier schedule the next few games...bad for Iowa to let them feel there is a chance.

I dont think either or them have a shot at the tourney IMO. 13 and 14 wins??? Dayton is 3-7 in the A10

Yes, but Dayton's next 5 games are more than winnable and they have lost a ton of close games this year...I would rather have had Xavier win to essentially eliminate Dayton.
