Not sure if who I want to win here and what is the best out come for the Hawks???

I'm thinking we want tOSU to win considering we can stay undefeated in BT and can beat them when we aaly them.

Thoughts!!!!!!

My preference is for fosu to beat wisky in madison, and be undefeated when they come to Kinnick Nov 20.
But!
I wouldn't be sad if becky beat the fbuckeyes tonight.

Honestly. I don't want Ohio State to matter and a loss may help in the polls but both teams won't lose another game aside from maybe when they play Iowa so it probably won't matter much who wins.

On the other hand if Wisconsin loses that would knock them two games behind us in the conference and make it so we can afford to lose next week to them (aka if Wisconsin loses tonight and we win all games but the Wisconsin game we're in the Rose Bowl).

So, half heartedly go Buckeyes I guess.

Wisconsin all ready a has a loss, Ohio State does not. An OSU loss gives Iowa an easier road to the conference championship. Wisconsin will have two losses by this time next weekend, so they won't be a factor in the race. For Wisconsin, this game is the difference between them going 4-4 or 5-3.

Go Badgers!

This is a tough choice. If Wisc loses, they come to Iowa with a 2 game losing streak and will have a chip on their shoulder. If OSU loses, our game against them loses some magic but they will have a few games to lose their chip before we play them.

IF Michigan State goes on to only lose 1 game that being against Iowa would leave them at 11-1. That means Iowa MUST beat Ohio State if they were to lose any other Big10 game. Iowa is the odd team out if MSU & OSU both go 11-1 with MSU's loss being at Iowa and OSU losing at Wisconsin. Iowa loses out on automatic Rose Bowl bid because of lower winning %. So to have any chance if MSU goes 11-1 Iowa needs to beat OSU or hope all teams in contention for title lose 2 games. Hope for upsets or otherwhise there's just one thing left to do...win the whole f-ing thing!

without thinking it through I have been rooting for Wisconsin. But Iowa is likely going to have to beat Ohio State to win the Big Ten...and wisconsin. Not sure that I like the tiebreak possibilities...MSU, Wisky and OSU all went undefeated out of conference...and if there is a three way tie, and head to head cannot eliminate one team...that out of conference loss will bite Iowa.

Say Iowa, OSU and MSU tied...and Iowa beat MSU for their only loss, and OSU beat Iowa, and was 7-1...Iowa would eliminate MSU because of head to head, as MSU does not play OSU...then Iowa and OSU would have head to head tie break and Iowa would be eliminated.

Sorry, didnt see your post, but three team tie breaks use head to head to eliminate one team...then another head to head if possible

Ok...that still leaves Iowa at 10-2, and in line for an at-large BCS bid. Not exactly a doomsday scenario.

Yeah, no biggy...there's a bit of confusion when it comes down to the tie-breakers D and F when they are using 10 ifs in each scenario. Agreed though with Iowa needing to beat OSU, Wisky, & MSU and then would be able to have one slip up. Need to beat the teams in contention because we are one foot out the door when coming down to tie-breakers with the loss in the desert. It's early but could prove to have been a huge loss later in the year.

Is that directed at me?

Nah, dude just meant wisky using up a lot of emotion/energy in this game might come into Kinnick flat next week.

i probably need to mix in a composition course at the local community college to explain myself better.:)
