Who is left for recruits this year?

I know Fran had several targets for potential recruits to fill our last scholarship. Does anyone know how many and/or who is still available? Nobody knows exactly who he could be looking at right now, but there are definitely a few out there still...

Most of the offers I'm seeing are to a lot of highly regarded wings for 2014. I did see we offered a guard out of Michigan (E.C. Matthews). Scout has him as the #17 pg in the country. He's 6'-4" 180 lbs. combo guard. He's quoted as liking the Hawks but has Arizona as his favorite. We're also showing interest in a wing (Nick Fuller) from Wisconsin. He's 6'-6" 175 lbs. We haven't offered, but are watching him. My guess is Fran banks the scholly.

i'd put money down that unless something freakish happens, we're banking it.
That's how I see it. Unless a Stud wing appears, or a four/five star player, whatever position, is available and interested, Fran banks the scholarship. I have a strong feeling that we will attract much more interest after next season, and recruits see what Fran is building.....

Peter Jok supposedly is high on the possible list, but he hasn't reached his potential yet due to injuries, I believe. Rumors were abound about him being the number one recruit ala Harrison Barnes, but that hasn't manifested itself yet.....

Jeremy Morgan looks very good, and he seems custom made for Fran's style, plus he has the pedigree.....

Bottom line, I believe Fran saves the scholarship.....

I say its banked unless he can get a big time recruit.

This appears to be the consensus, and it's probably the right move to make sure the scholarships are spread out and not have 6 players leave at once four years from now.

It seems like some of you folks might be confusing 2012 and 2013 recruits.

For the 2012 class, Uthoff seems to be the only known name as a guy who might be in play for a scholarship.

For 2013, there are several names being thrown around, like:

E.C. Matthews (reports an Iowa offer)
Martez Walker (reports an Iowa offer)
Nick Fuller
Jeremy Morgan
Peter Jok
Kendall Pollard

'Tis a pity because I see us as being a scorer away from making the big dance.

That has also been my position, but I hope we are both wrong. Need a scoring, slashing wing who can defend the perimter, who is ready to contribute immediately.

Uthoff will not be getting a scholarship for 2012. If he chooses to go to Iowa in the fall he is ineligible for a scholly that first year.

Akoy Agau is another prospect in 2013 that has an offer that I would love for the Hawks to get.

I understand that Uthoff wouldn't be on scholarship the first year. What I was referring to was the fact that if Uthoff chooses Iowa, it will almost certainly be because communications have been made through available channels that a scholarship will be available for him after the first year.

So he would take a spot from the 2013 class if he decided to come to the Hawks and one would still be available for the 2012 class if Fran would want to use it.

Your first post said Uthoff is the only guy who might be in play for a scholly in the 2012 class, which is impossible because he cant receive a scholarship in the 2012 class if he were to choose Iowa.
