A coach who can get us to the NCAA Tournament on a fairly regular basis would be a good place to start.

Yep. He was a nice guy who won games, and ran a clean program. Isn't that what alot of us want? Well, we had that. Once.

I think we all got a little greedy. Looking back it just went all wrong.

Exactly. The grass was greener on the other side of the fence, and we got burned trying to get better.
Right now though, the grass in our yard is turning brown.

Look at Iowa's last few head coaches? Who exactly left here on good terms?
Lickliter - not successful, ran off by the fans who wanted more

My points are that is a common theme exists in the coaching changes at our school

The fans are not running Lickliter off. Lickliter is RUNNING HIMSELF off with his poor record. Ran off by fans who want more? Um, yeah! Worst records in school history. How dare we expect more.

Gould is a ******...part of the Taylor Bell Suntimes illini mafia that despise Iowa.
I have read this guy over the years,and he has never passed on a chance to take a shot at Iowa. Again with his attitude of ''what is with these Iowa fans not being satisfied with historic losing seasons? '' Bullcrap. If the Illini lose today to wisky, go to the Illini board and test the tempature there,Mr. Gould. They are already issuing their own ultimatums for weber...next year or be gone! For a coach that has produced winning seasons,and a run to the title game 5 years ago....

The fans were tired of him before the 1st season was over. I read boards, news, and was in Iowa City at Carver for his first season. There was no hope, and then the transfers hit and the fans were waiting for him to fail. Everyone wanted Bruce Pearl and was disappointed. WOW... where have I heard Iowa fans moaning about not getting the "hot" candidate and settling for some boring candidate.... hmmmmmm.........
