Who found Aaron Fuller?

I know there were stories posted on this way back when but I don't recall the details. I vaguely recall that it might have been Jordan or Cornette who found out about him from a contact or a scouting trip to AZ.

Aaron is definitely a recruiting success story for this staff. We need more like him.

Well, we can rule out getting any good kids out of the southwest ever again. Our "fan" base sent Lute packing down there and then they sent Steve packing down there. You run off two guys like that and it won't be long until the high school coaches won't even let their players talk to Iowa, plus add in Alford's success down there, and he will be vacuuming up all the talent for the foreseeable future, that is unless he gets the job at Duke if Coach K retires this year.

If this schtick was funny at one time (I can't vouch for that), it wasn't funny beyond the first shot. Welcome to the ignore list.

Someone who doesn't ignore O'Keefe, do let me know if he comes up with something funny again in the future. ;-)

Big school player of the year in Arizona. Hard to miss him although a lot of schools apparently did. The real question might be "Who convinced him to come to Iowa?"

Maybe he was really excited to be somewhere it rained once in a while.

Not Lick or any of the other coaches on the staff that would give them to much credit. I am sure that he just signed a LOI and got the Iowa basketball office fax # of the internet and sent it in.

Arizona did not offer ,nor did ASU....iowa took advantage of the Lute transition at Az...I suspect that these schools wish they had offered..maybe.
He was not top150 on any list,so he was not a super hot prospect. Congrats to him for building his body so well thru hard work the last year...and the coaches who spotted him.

His deal is that he was a tweener, and had changed positions late in his HS career, so he didn't get a lot of looks because of that.

I was on his bandwagon when he was a senior in high school. I saw him put up 46 pts and 24 rebounds in a very tough league. He was big school player of the year in Arizona his senior year. He was also a late developer so a lot of big schools had already had commitments. When the old board was up I constantly said he would be a great player but just like on this board, 90% of the fans are clueless on building a program. I would welcome guys like Fuller anytime. He will be a great leader the next two years.

Anyone who saw his videos after he signed with Iowa had to like what they saw. It's just taken a while for that talent to come out.

That is not exactly true. Lute did try to come in on Aaron late, but Fuller stuck by his committment.

Where's Aaron?
