Who do we want to win? Wisconsin or Ohio State?

I still wish Michigan would have beat Sparty, because now the Iowa Michigan has lost it's luster. For the same reason, I say (with vomit in my mouth), "Go Buckeyes!"

I agree, we want MSU and OSU to stay undefeated until they play us. I think MSU should get into the top 10 by the time we play them if they're undefeated, and OSU should stay #1, even if they don't blow everybody out.

Who cares about Iowa-Michigan losing it's luster? We still have Iowa-Michigan State up ahead that could be a huge matchup, unless Iowa or MSU stumble once or twice before the game...

This plus the Mi game we have a lot to gain even though they have one loss. Hard road game and if we can make Drob look worse than anyone else.

I don't care which wins as long as it's a hard hitting game. I'd like to see both teams softened up a bit.
Maybe on second thought OSU in a close game.

Personally, I don't want to go to the Rose Bowl unless we beat Ohio State. So I'm not interested in any scenarios where Iowa goes to the Rose Bowl with a loss to Ohio State, because Ohio State finished 6-2.

I don't think I felt this way in past years. But I guess '85 still stings a bit, and then we backed into that next Rose Bowl with a late loss to the Buckeyes in Kinnick. Of course we didn't get to play them in the 8-0 season. And last year's OT loss should haunt these Hawkeyes.

The past has created a bit of a perfect storm for my expectations this season. It was never about a national championship or winning in Arizona or going undefeated in the Big Ten.

It is about - and only about - beating the Buckeyes in Kinnick on November 20 with a berth in the Rose Bowl on the line. I have an itch that only this will scratch.

This. If Ohio State comes into Kinnick at 10-0 and is against 9-1 Iowa with a winner-take-all Rose Bowl berth in play for both teams, the atmosphere will be Iowa/Ohio State 2006 on steroids.

Yep. As far as the original question goes, we we should all be cheering for Wisconsin to spring the upset. An Ohio State loss gives Iowa a margin for error that the Hawks wouldn't have otherwise.

Wisconsin fans might see this as a big game, but the reality for the Badgers is that this game is the difference between them going 5-3 or 4-4.

It matters little ... 11-1 Iowa, should it come to pass, is in the top-5 ... where in the top-5 depends more on who is 12-0 than whether OSU or MSU is 11-1, or if Wisconsin or Northwestern or Michigan is 10-2

the only big ten games where we really have a rooting interest are those involving Purdue and Illannoy. Since we don't play them, it's better if they lose, of course.

If you're worried about are ranking root for ohio state to win, if your worried about winning the big ten root for Wisconsin(wisky already got a loss, osu doesn't).

The goal is to win the Big Ten. Wisky has a loss, and this is one of two tough road games for OSU all year...so, gotta root for the Badgers to give OSU a loss.
I will root for the illini to beat MSU also...and for Minny to beat PU. I want Iowa to be on top of those standings after this weekend. And I want them to stay there the rest of the way. I don't care about rankings, about conference prestige, about perceptions, just care about one thing....playing in Pasadena on Jan 1...please.

I hope Iowa clinches the Rose Bowl before the OSU weekend.
I do want to win every game, but if we stumble, I still want those Roses.

Whatever helps Iowa to get to the Rose Bowl is the best answer to this question imho. A #1 Ohio St coming into Kinnick has much more to play for and more motivation to win. Wisconsin already has a loss. Michigan has a loss. Penn St has a 2 losses. Northwestern has a loss. Illinois has a loss. Indiana has 2 losses. Minnesota is a joke.

That just leaves Ohio St, Michigan St, Iowa, and Purdue has the only unbeaten teams. You figure Purdue is going to lose eventually and that just leaves 3 teams. If Ohio St loses to Wisconsin, that just leaves Iowa and Michigan St. Iowa can control its own destiny and take care of MSU along the way.

Iowa is not going to play in the NT game. I just don't think beating a #1OSU is going to be enough to get there (assuming we have beaten every team up to that point).

So, Wisco taking out OSU is going to give us a leg up. And, what OSU team is going to be more challenging and dangerous from mental standpoint coming into Kinnick? An unbeaten one, or a previously defeated one?

Beating #1 would that much sweeter, but it would lead to the same outcome most likely.

I'm going for some Badgers.
