Who are we rooting for today?

Help me out. Hawks arent on so a little dis-interested in saturday's games, but would like to have some horses to pull for. What games do I care about today?

Thanks in advance

Purdue @MSU should be interesting. Baylor vs Missouri is the game of the day. Clones play later today if you're into that sort of thing

thanks. I guess i'm looking more along the lines of who can benefit the hawks with a win or loss. I assume we have folks around he who are more on top of it than me.

#3 Baylor vs. #5 Missouri game should be a good one. Both are 17-1 overall and 4-1 in the Big 12. Game is on at 1PM ESPN

I'm more concerned with our final standings more then opponents we beat winning to make us look good. so im rooting for everyone ahead of us that we have a reasonable chance to pass to lose. teams like Wisconsin and Indiana need to keep losing

Purdue over Michigan State since Iowa lost to Purdue twice
Nebraska over Ohio State since Iowa still has to play Nebraska twice
Michigan over Arkansas helps everyone

I would actually be pulling for MSU and OSU. Like a poster above said. I don't care about our Purdue losses being 'validated' if it means we finish behind them in the standings. Same for Nebraska. I don't want perceived schedule strength coming at the expense of teams closer to us in the standings stealing upset wins.

I think its a little bit of both.

We need to say we have X number of wins vs. the top half of the BigTen. Although out of conference, we need Michigan to take care of business vs. a decent Arkansas team on the road.

Arkansas is probably just outside of the bubble right now, similar to ISU at this point in the year.

We need to make our as many losses look like good losses. Creighton needs to beat Indiana St.

Probably want Drake to beat UNI on Sunday. This will solidify them as a top 100 RPI team for the rest of the year.

drake really isnt bad. neither is UNI. neither are good, but decent teams.

it really just depends on whether you want iowa to have a mathematical chance at the league title, or to move up in the standings. im cheering for OSU and MSU from here on out.

Yep. Michigan too

Purdue just might be suffering a beatdown at the hands of the Spartans. Behind by 28 with 5:00 to go.....

Michigan State seems to be learning a few tricks from their football team. Playing somewhat nasty, taunting, just short of chest beating.....

Look like a Final Four team. Would love to see them do this to teams outside the conference.....

Something I thought I would never see. Spartans look like a BYU team near the end of a miserable experience for the Boilermakers with whom the Hawkeyes can commiserate.....

:D

MSU is not a Final Four team, they don't play outside conference in the pre-conference, but do in the Tourney, so we will see.

Watching them against NW and Michigan, if Wood can't hit a three, they are in serious trouble. He has been the difference for them. You know Appling and Green are typically going to get their points, but they really don't have a guy that is reliable outside of that.
Their bigs aren't scorers, well, they caplitalize on their good chances, but can't really create for themselves.
Until they get that third guy scoring all the time, they will not be in the Final Four. They also have too many defensive breakdowns against good teams. MSU is far better than they were last season, but not quite to the level they were going to the Final Four.

They are definitely better than last season, SportsTalent. At times, especially against Iowa and Purdue they look like a tournament Spartan team. Of course those games were in Lansing. They look like the second best team in the B1G, and I would love to see two Big Ten teams in the semifinals again. I really think OSU has a chance to win it all with a break or two. The B1G can't seem to win the last game when they get there. It has been a while. Might be wishful thinking about the Spartans. Recently Ohio State, Illinois, and Michigan State have made it to the finals, losing twice to the Tarheels and Florida, I believe. Doing no better than Butler as far as cutting down the nets.....

Good posts from you, as usual.....
