who are we recruiting?

not sure why we need a 6'3 guard, right now the biggest need is a wing between 6'5 and 6'7, because if May can't get back to full speed, we really don't have a backup to Marble if goes to the 4, Basabe has no outside shot to be a 3 and McCabe has the range but not the quicks to be a 3.
and i am not ready to see a 6'3 wing considering how long we have been to short to match up.

you might not want to see a 6'3 wing but you will...his name is ingram and he is coming. we have a 6'5 wing in ogelsby and a 6'6 wing in marble. another 6'5 wing in may (if healthy). we need the best wing we can get not the tallest wing.

this is also coming from the guy that thinks gesell will play some on the wing and i believe he is 6'2. all i've seen ingram do on tape is finish at the hoop so i believe we need a solid shooter to help out jo. gesell has an above average shot but he isnt a spot up guy and he is a pure point who just played the 2 because of playing with paige. if no paige on his aau team no one would think of calling him anything other than a point.

some are too worried about height and weights. to me it is about if they can play. if height meant what some thought charles barkley wouldnt have been as good as he was considering he was a 6'6 (on a good day) power forward.

if he takes a transfer he will be of no use to us next season, so there is no reason to use the scholly on a transfer.
besides you really think Fran is going to say he is done with recruiting, with a little over a month to go

Honest question here.

Why wouldn't we use a scholly on a high-profile transfer? Even if they have to sit out a year... If they are good, wouldn't it be beneficial to get him? Do we absolutely need another player that can play next year? I feel like we will already have quite a bit of depth next year, but I could be wrong.

I'm assuming a high profile transfer wouldn't switch to a school unless they are going to be on scholarship... or does it not work like that? Would the scholarship not count towards a transfer?

I guess I don't really know how it works.

My sources tell me he will use it on a big guy, guard or wing. These guys are usually pretty dead on, so take it for what it's worth.

Your sources must be reading the same message boards that a million other people are reading.

Remember folks herby is worried about the graduating class in 2017, he wants the 4 3 3 3 recruiting classes so that there is a balance on the team. To heck that Iowa has not been to the NCAA tournament since 2006 or coming off back to back 20 loss seasons. We gotta make sure there is more than 1 senior on that 2017 class!

This team needs talent, and a lot of it!
