All I can say right now is that I'm glad this game is out of the way and we got the W. I really don't care what the final score was. A W is a W in a game like this, and I'm not surprised at all that it ended up being close in the end. I was VERY nervous about this game and D. Robinson and Michigan's offense...
In the end, I think it was Iowa's defense being able to contain Robinson, and Michigan's defense being soft that made the difference. It played out pretty much how I expected: We gave up some points, but we were able to score on Michigan's soft D when we wanted to and were able to outscore them.
Funny isn't it, how last year, we were prepared for Forcier, and Robinson comes in and hurts us. This year, we're prepared for Robinson, and Forcier comes in and hurts us. Kind of ironinc.. I guess even the best laid game plan can go awry when the opposing QB goes out of the game, and the backup comes in and makes some plays.
But a win on the road in the Big House is always a good win, I don't care how "down" Michigan is. Always a tough game, and Michigan is a better team than a year ago.. I expect they will win a few games down the stretch and have a good season.
That said - a nice win by our Hawks. 5-1 (2-0)!!! I agree with the announcers, we WILL have alot to say about who plays in the Rose Bowl.... Or the national title game. OSU will have a tough time winning at our place.
