They had at least one basketball legacy make good. Lloyd Free, who would soon name himself World B Free, was a Guilford legacy. Free, who had a long NBA career for many teams, was ahead of his time in both his desire to shoot from long range and his tendency to self promote. Before he was World, his nickname for himself was "The Prince of Midair". Today, he can be seen as a greeter in the lobby for 76'ers home games, where he had his finest hours in the NBA. He was also part of the legendary Brooklyn playground scene, which featured Free, Fly Williams, Phil Sellers, Bernard and Albert King, Pearl Washington, Mouse McFadden, and many others.
