This weekend sets up to provide the Big Ten the opportunity to stake their claim as the number 1 conference in the nation.

With high profile wins against ND, Miami, and Alabama, the Big Ten would be in the discussion for top conference. However, with losses in all three games, the Big Ten would drop down into the second tier.

Of course it could be something in between.

What do you think will be the outcome of these games and where will the Big Ten be situated in the conference power rankings after this weekend?

Although I would love to see it, I don't see Penn St. beating Bama. Penn State's D will keep them in the game, but I see a possible blowout here. I'm fully confident, however, that tOSU will beat Miami, and Michigan will beat ND. 2 outta 3 ain't bad.

Another interesting question would be if PSU actually beat Bama, what would happen in the polls with respect to Iowa?

that's okay...penn state has to come to kinnick on our homecoming night. so when we beat the pants off them, we get bumped way up in the polls

Michigan will roll ND. Their Oline is no good and Michigans is fantastic.

PSU will lose to Bama. Just not enough speed all around.

OSU over Miami. Could be close, but I would say it's a two possession game.

The problem with all of this is that Iowa will lose to ISU which will really hurt them.

Of all the predictions you made, you couldn't be further from the truth re: the Iowa game. Just like last year, people were scared of this game. Iowa has turned a corner, not Nat'l Championship caliber but last year opened the eyes of the players on this team & I don't see this game being a letdown just like EIU wasn't a letdown (see UNI last year).

OSU is the only confident W I see. PSU is definitley the dog in that fight and I think ND/MI could go either way

Why is the Michigan vs ND game being seen as a measuring stick of the Big Ten? ND is garbage and Michigan had one good game against a UConn team who I see as being over hyped. We won't know about the true Michigan team until their MSU game. This week is a two game measuring stick for the Big Ten...of course add the Iowa vs Iowa State game in there as being a measuring stick ONLY if Iowa loses. No one sees it as a big deal on the national stage if Iowa wins...only if Iowa loses. Case in point this series is a no win situation for Iowa. That has been discussed already though.
