Where Are Post-CC Hawk Fans? Hawks v Maryland

They're good but just not consistently there yet.
Despite outcome ... Women are still my fav Hawk team to watch right now. Simply can not dispute their grit. Unfortunately, grit only gets you so far and can't overcome the deficits in handlers, passing, and defense.

Hawks are a Lotta fun to watch and they play Tough

Maryland is undefeated and play the game as though it is a street brawl

It was good to see Lucy get back in order. Must get her back to scoring 20-ish ... bonus if she's on from 3 (which isn't going to be often).

I really want to see more of Lucy - Guyton - Syd - Hannah - Addy for longer stretches. McCabe, if she's hitting (too long tonight when she wasn't). Feur, for some defensive spark but she just isn't going to give you offense. Go with Stremlow, Mallegni, Heiden (NEVER together) to spell the others here and there.

I get it, trouble is, Hannah and Addy get way too many early fouls so forces Jan's hand but she's going to have to gamble a bit on those 2nd foul situations or it just leads to uphill climbs when the Hawks go small.

Dammit, Caitlin! You had 1 more year and these youngsters could really learn / grow with you around right now!;)

At least the women fought back and made a game of it. I’m watching USC vs Rutgers. uSC is up 71 to 26 and JuJu is still in the game. They’re trying to get her more points. I believe she has 19 right now. I think they’re very aware of what she needs to average to chase Caitlin’s scoring record. I could be wrong. Maybe I’m the only one who cares and is paying attention.

I have it on, too. Whoda thunk? ... My favorite sport to watch over last year and half is NCAA women and WNBA.:p The CC effect has me hooked! Maybe that it's still the uncorrupted "game" aspect of it.

For sure, they know! They gotta keep this wave from crashing and Ju-Ju is the surfboard. However, there's no repeating the flair and awesomeness that CC played with ...
Ju-Ju is Kobe or Lebron but Caitlin is the "Mike"!!

If they started out playing defense instead of allowing all those open 3s they definitely could have won this game. A lot of bad turnovers by veteran players and no three ball threat outside of Olson. That said, they have a lot of talent, Jan needs to figure out here lineups ASAP. I like Guyton too, she needs more minutes at the 1, she's not afraid to shoot the 3.

JuJu played 30 minutes in the game that USC won by 50 points

She took 32 shots making 11 of them

She did have 4 assists though

The USC coach is a dandy one, full of compassion

This seemed to be an off game for the starters

Almost the entire game

Time to move on and get this show on the road

C'mon Hawk fans! Surprised at such lack of interest in Hawk women!

Anyway - Not much to say bout this early rout with #8 Maryland thumping #23 Iowa. Was hoping for a really good game but seems Iowa is who they are ... Poor ball handlers, poor defenders and only 1 outside threat (if she's wide open). Tough to hang with the ranked teams averaging high teens turnovers and low % shooting.

Said before, they are NOT top 25 this year. Will make tourney but it'll be a quick exit. Nonetheless, it's a rebuild / adjustment year in the post-CC era and still worth watching to see the future ... When they'll return to form as the talented youth grow together.
Number 1 I am a huge Iowa Women's basketball supporter. I am tired of a program that decides playing time by how many years you have been in the program. Hell Maryland basically has a new team with NIL players. We have possibly the best recruiting class put together and we continue to let the older girls start and piss down their legs. Sydney is LOST, she is obviously still slowed by the injury. She is slow, she won't shoot her 3 point shot without double pumping instead of just catch and shoot. O'Grady is what she is, 6'5" SLOW, weak, and can't guard her shadow. There is a reason Hannah was our 5 last year not O'Grady. Hannah is caught in one of the stupidest coaching moves I have seen. She is being forced to step out 25' from the basket and be a small forward. She is undersized, who cares, we went to back to back national championships with Hannah playing with her back to the basket. Kylie is quick, somewhat long for a guard defender but she is not a basketball player, she doesn't know what to do when she drives, she is a VERY streaky shooter and most of the time is not in a good way. The only one playing a complete game right now is Lucy and she wasn't in our program for the last 3 years.

We made a comeback when she inserted 4 bench players, and then after they cut it back Jan puts the starters right back in. They should of rotted on the bench until those girls needed a break. When we made our run in the 2nd half the girl igniting it was Stremlow. Hannah was back at post when she was on the floor. The Heiden girl is a stud, fast, quick feet, shot blocker, put her on the floor and teach her Jan...remember you are the post whisperer. By years end she will be a season post player. The kid has played club ball at an elite level and doesn't need 3 years on the bench to get ready.

Allie Deal is coming and folks she is the REAL DEAL. I just hope we don't continue to do what we do and the wolves start coming after Allie. Basketball is a game to be played with your best players on the floor. Not the oldest players. I really felt like Jan would not do what Lisa did for years, but so far I am wrong. I will continue to watch and support them, but man we are leaving a lot of talent on the bench.
