When you think you've heard the worse about Iowa Football

Hey, if ISU wanted them, I'm fine with it. I'll go over to their site and find the posts prior to them committing to Iowa. It will make me feel good...since they will be explaining how these guys are four stars that have been getting the shaft in recruiting due to being from Iowa or small schools.

8-4, 7-5, guaranteed bowl trip nearly every year, solid family man, clean program, no major NCAA violations, held in high regard by the coaching fraternity and TV commentators? I'll ride that train every day and twice on Saturdays!
 
If you hadn't heard about how many Iowans we're counting on to be contributors before now, then you really haven't been paying much attention. How is this different than the way things looked 6 months ago?

Yeah these past 2 years have been a thrill a minute beating up on bottom feeders to become bowl eligible. And then getting your doors blown off by a .500 Tennessee team. Havent defeated a ranked opponent since 2011

Yeah, if you want to hang with a Bitter Betty read the OP's post history. If I didn't know any better I'd swear he's a Cyclone fan impersonating an Iowa fan. But we don't get those around here...
 
While I agree our recruiting has been pathetic lately and these guys would not be on many Hawkeye rosters of past, the guys we have who DID have other offers (CJ and crew) do give us cause for optimism. You need stars and role players on every team. This team just happens to have a ton of role players.
 
Not really excited about the season, but trying to look at the positives. One being that Iowa plays in a very weak division. Its not going to take a great team to win that division anytime soon. Hope the new football facilities help recruiting a bit but not expecting much on that front.
 
How many of these are Iowa kids who simply want to stay in the state? I imagine that Texas, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Ohio also have a lot of these.

It's the number of times I've given your Mom the ride of her life. Got anything to bring to the discussion to why almost half our two deeps not receiving a Power 5 offer outside of Iowa and ISU doesn't pose a problem for this year or next or are you just one of those useless Branch Davidians that likes to feign ignorance to facts and play the all is well card?

Exactly. To 68's point (good comeback, by the way), I don't think all is well, but I don't agree our talent level is dramatically below KF-era norms - though it isn't above-average either.

That's always the claim zeroes like you spiel to discount anything someone who's not living in the compound says about your precious Hawkeyes. A quick check of my Delta account though shows a life that's quite the opposite of sucking. Upcoming trips to Manhattan (2), Seattle, Vegas, Hong Kong and Nairobi. Oh, and I'm gonna go to Great Falls, MT next weekend and party down with my 93 year young Grandma.

That can't match you punchin the munchkin to Kirk's Capital One Bowl win 10 years ago but that's my cross to bear.
