I have been wondering this weekend if any of our premature attrition at the DE & DL positions is due to the fiery, in-your-face approach of Coach K. I have only wonderments, not any inside scoops from the likes of John Raymon or Donovan Johnson, etc. It may merely be coincidence, but screaming wears on any receiver of it, including football players.
Yep, my kid has a soccer coach like that. The verbal abuse only goes so far until it stops working as motivation and they just start tuning out or say F U I don't need to take this.
However, there is no telling if that is an issue.
But I thought the fact that KF had to step in to motivate was interesting.

That's kind of harsh, DMH.
You guys are reading into my comment waaayyy to much. I'm not calling out any of our players. I think the defensive line is working hard, trying their best and is showing glimpses of good play. Make no mistake we do not have the talent we've had the last few years so how can you expect the same results from coach K. That's the point I was trying to get across.
So if we do not have the same talent level now, wouldn't Coach K deserve a significant portion of the blame for this? I would have to believe that he has a large voice in who we are recruiting for the D-line.

Depends on how situation plays out. If Iowa loses every game but Minnesota and then Norm retires. I'm not so sure KF will have the luxury of hiring with in. Now lets say Iowa only loses one more game. KF can do what ever he wants and promotion would problem come from with in.
