When, look to new QB experience?

Ok, Iowa is bowl eligible...yay.

Ok, Iowa has pissed away every opportunity game to win the west, etc. "The Year" is long over.

When is it time to move in the new QB options for some real game experience? Soon, I hope. They have, what, games to burn without losing a red shirt...use them. We know what Stanley can do already.

Odds?

Do you understand how anything works in IAC?

I was just hoping I guess, I should know better.

It is best to just start another "bowl year" with a completely inexperienced QB to go along with an "in over his head" OC and hope the ball bounces our way.

Odds? Sometime in the Spring of 2020.

I will put the over / under for "how many games before we see QB options" at 4-1/2 games.
- (Injuries void the book; scrimmages do not count.)

Accurate, unfortunately, odd player development plan..Do it the way we always do it.

CJ Beathard couldn't even walk in his last game and they still never took him out.

Stanley is going to play every single snap until every last tick of the clock is gone in this season.[/QUOTE]

I hope he does because it enhances our chances to win although, it would be nice if we blew somebody out and Petras or Mansell were allowed to play.

So. We should take the second place leader in yards passing in the BT, three year starter, a team Captain, with a healthy winning percentage, and put in an inexperienced unproven replacement. And, we have still have an outside chance to end the regular season 9-3, go to a decent bowl game, and play for a 10 win season. All Righty, Then. (Yeah. All of NS’ faults have been covered ad nauseum, so save me the repetition). I am fine with some experience for backups. But we better have the game in the proverbial bag before we take that risk.

Spencer you are not supposed to be on these forums.

Which adds the bonus of job safety since next year's 6-6 will be "what did you expect we had to start a new QB".

Spence gets to go to Ohio State and Penn State in back to back weeks in 2020. Trial by fire. With two new OTs to boot.

The odds are very low that the backups get any playing time except to handoff late in a game. As seniors Banks, Chandler, Stanzi, Vandeberg, Beathard have all played out the year. Tate was replaced a few times in games his senior year because of injury and/or what I will call 'whatever'.

KF just doesnt do this unless the hawks are way ahead. Vandenberg was getting crushed routinely his Sr season of 2012 and the games were out of reach sometimes but Rudock did not get a snap.

Spot touches of the ball for the new QB talent is what makes sense, it isn't like Stanley is carrying the team. Anyone can stand motionless in a pocket, even a mannequin. Let's see what the new guys can do, perhaps they could even lead Iowa to a touchdown...and stay in....if they don't make the mistake of celebrating and go to the two year Kirk Doghouse.

Things don't get any better unless you evaluate and adjust...but Kirk has a plan.

Geez. I hope I win the lottery. Maybe I should play? :)

Stanley will play all year because Deuce Hogan can't play this year. Deuce is the future. Petras and Mansell might as well transfer now.
