Blitz has been burned as well (ISU was one example). Experienced LBs look like they time their blitzes very well as the season has went on.
Brought up in the official game thread..
we have never blitzed in the Ferentz era as much as we have the last few games.
And its worked so well.
Are the linebackers better at it? That makes sense but regardless these types of blitzes have rarely if ever been called in the Ferentz era.
It didn't hurt that they were against Nebby's third-string quarterback. That's not to take anything away from what Phil and his boys did and great job, guys, but just sayin ...
If T-Maniac had played. We may have schemed a little differently. And Kellogg did seem to read it well for a couple series.
Bigger success factor was when we pressed a little with the DBs.
The blitz is like crack cocaine for the football fan. You see it work a little bit and you want so much more. It is extremely risky, but it was a beautiful thing today.
90% of the time something good happens. I'd settle for thatBlitz has been burned as well (ISU was one example). Experienced LBs look like they time their blitzes very well as the season has went on.
