What's your favorite bowl memory?

I am tired of all the rumor crap, I am ready to get back to talking some Hawkeye football with real Hawk fans.

What is everyone's favorite bowl game memory? I know there are the obvious ones, but I have a few that maybe are special to me or different reasons.

My first two real memories were of the Holiday Bowls in 86 and 87. I remember listening to both of them on the radio as a kid, listening to Zabel ask us to give our radios a big hug and kiss when both games went down to the last play of the game.

The 91 Holiday Bowl is also very special for me. My parents had just gotten us cable for Christmas, they hooked it up the night before the game and I was stoked to be watching the game on ESPN. I remember BYU throwing an interception in the end zone in the final minute and Iowa escaping with a tie. If I remember correctly, a key defensive player was injured in that game (Leroy Smith?)?

And lastly, the 01 Alamo Bowl, when after the win Kirk announced that the Hawkeyes were back. It didn't seem possible that Iowa could be winning a bowl game again when just a few short years earlier they were so far down.

My first ever was the Cap One. Going to be tough to beat that.

The parts I remember best though:

1. The three ladies in front of me, probably in their 60's, bawling due to the pure joy of it.

2. The money myself and countless others probably spent to replace the items they smash under our feet as we jumped uncontrollably. We had to replace my wife's designer shades and digital camera. Guy behind us lost his camera as well.

Great topic! Tough to top Tate to Holloway, so I'll pick my next 2 in line: the blocked punt against Florida and "C.J. Jones, see you later." I was more excited for the latter than Tate to Holloway.

Thank you!

Capital one bowl for sure. I'll never forget being stuck inside from the ice storm and going nuts all afternoon after that game.

Dolphin's call on the last play will forever give me chills.

Houghtlin's kick to beat San Diego State - My first real bowl memory (I was 6 or 7 when this game was played)

Pasting Washington in the 1995(?) Sun Bowl - Shaw and Banks tearing up the Huskies defense

CJ Jones, see you later - Only bright spot in the game and we didn't have to wait long for it

Tate to Holloway - 60 or so seconds that took me from extremely low (the staff completely crumbling from a time management standpoint) to extremely high (the play itself).
