What's up with Dom Alvis?

Many of the guys you mentioned played by necessity. If Ferentz has the luxury of having a mediocre senior to pencil in as a starter, that dude is playing over a redshirt frosh, no matter how good the frosh is. I still have nightmares about what happened to that d-line in C-bus back in ought five after Roth, Babs, Luebke, etc. graduated and we had 4 undersized underclassmen starting.

This statement about playing a mediocre senior over a more talented red shirt frosh makes you sound a bit silly, don't you think?

Meier is gonna be a good one....first DE in awhile with true closing speed needed to run down these mobile qbs. Now, he just needs to learn to take the correct angle, and he will get some sacks...maybe this week!
