What's on the menu?

This week, with a 230pm game, the ribs will be cooking low and slow while we go to our son's flag football game. Then finished off on the grill!!

Depends on the week. Week one, I go to our Hawkeye Club bar and order a (frozen--we're in Florida, after all) tenderloin. And yes, I go Vincent Vega and threaten to shoot anyone on general principles for putting ketchup on their tenderloin sandwich.

For watching at home, September games usually go with grilled brats, homemade kraut, cheese and crackers, maybe some summer sausage. Beer, wine and whatever else gets poured in my glass are all fair game.

October/November games is when the chili gets made and consumed with gusto.
Bob is it OK if I put mustard on it.

I like catsup on tenderloins, sometimes salsa but usually the works: ketchup, mustard, onions, and pickles.

I live in colorado, so mine is a come on over for some food and football type of deal. People here have not cared about college ball in a long time (dont know why, haha). I love college ball, i will watch the pros but do not get as excited about it as they do.

Oh, yeah! I do mustard, sometimes other sauces like tabasco, even a dash of mayo. Ketchup is just wrong for me. I do realize, however, that there is a sizeable number of ketchup users out there.

Our Hawkeye Club bar has "tiger" sauce for wings and tater tots. Darn tasty stuff. And frankly, on a cooked-from-frozen tenderloin, it hits the spot quite nicely.

The last bar we went to, before it closed, had no idea about tenderloins. They went--for us, which was thoughtful--and got a huge pork loin roast, roasted, then sliced it, then served sandwiches. They looked like chicken cutlet sandwiches, were dry as hell, and warranted ketchup, along with anything else you could get in your grasp. Flat-out awful.

When we moved to Wing Shack, we hammered them on who their suppliers are, and they confirmed one of them had tenderloins..although (shudder), they are listed as "pork fritters". Frightening.

Definitely pickles, onions are cool (preferrably grilled), even tomatoes. I draw a line at ketchup and lettuce (the lettuce line is drawn pretty much everywhere for me except the obvious BLT).

Man I wasn't expecting so many things that have my mouth watering. I decided to go with the old dude plan so I invited some friends over. They're bringing over food and drink also probably little smokies, baked beans or things like that. I'm going to go for the enchilada casserole and tenderloins. I can't believe it's been years since I've had a good tenderloin, I'm not a ketchup guy either. I'm also going with FreddyHawks dip with wheat thins and whatever other kinds of crackers I find, maybe a few cheeses. Next week I like the party sub. I think the chili and potato soup are great choices but I think I'll wait till late October or November for them when there's a chill in the air. Might have to move the tv out on the deck and have the whole outdoor atmosphere except for the heater standing on the deck. Thanks for all the great ideas, I'm overwhelmed.
