What's most important for our next hire?

Is it more about Recruiting or having an established HC? Does having an Iowa tie-in sway the decision in any way?

Is it easier to get a Recruiter and add X & O assistant or get a solid proven Major Conference coach & add a top-notch recruiter assistant?

I would go for a great recruiter personally. I just want to see our best in-state talent in Black and Gold!

Imo, Iowa has to get someone who can recruit Illinois. I wouldn't care if they have Iowa ties or not.

For me, the most important thing is style of play. Any suggestion of a coach who does not play an up-tempo style is simply a non-starter. Iowa MUST get a coach who likes to run and gun.

Being a good recruiter, being honest, upstanding and decent, fitting into the community and putting education before athletics all go without saying. Those qualities are simply a given when talking about the Iowa job.

On top of all of that, having an exciting, fast-paced, high scoring system is absolutely essential.
