What's Andre Woolridge Up To These Days? Good Article

Basketball dojo. Awesome. I hope he makes the kids call him "sensai."

One of the best Hawkeyes ever.

Holy crap are you kidding me??? That's awesome thanks for finding and posting that. I hadn't heard a thing about him in prolly ten years. Thought he got screwed out of player of the yr when Bobby Jackson got it. I thought he was a running back playing PG. He was so broad shouldered and when he put his head down to the rim he was getting his shot up and or getting fouled every time. Was fun watching him play.

I have never seen a number assigned to what these guys make playing in Europe...6 figures. Wow, that surprised me. I hope Gatens and others are getting that kind of bread. Good for them! Thanks for posting this article. It was really a good read...I love updates on how former Hawk athletes are doing. So many good stories.

That is a good article. Thanks. The part about him playing BB in the Field House, against students was true. I played several pick up games with him over the course of one summer. It's funny that Mr. Davis told him not to. IIRC, he wasn't the only Hawkeye that showed up for pick up games, although he was there more than the rest. I recall Glasper, Murray and Winters showing up occasionally. A rare Russ Millard sighting. This was in 93' or 94'. I did enjoy watching him play.

I used to live in Urbandale and James Winters might still live over there now but I know about ten yrs ago he lived over there and played in some organized leagues. I used to run scoreboards and ref in them. He wasn't quite the same Sky Walker he used to be but it was fun talking to him and watching him play now and then.

I was there then to I remember playing with a bunch of football players, also. Innis -enge, Harold Jasper, larry blue, a track guy the name escapes me right now, old schoolers like dwight sistrunk. AW loved to ball, he would even play games with scrubs, scrubs like me.
