What would you do?

So I was at Carver last night ... great game, great atmosphere and the place was going nuts ... especially in the first 10 minutes with the Hawk dunkfest. I'm in row 38 and all of a sudden a guy who is sitting three rows directly behind me comes up an taps me on the shoulder and said "hey, I bought a ticket too" in reference to me standing up and cheering after several great plays.

So I'm like shocked ... here we are first post season game in 6 years, the Hawks are playing great and some guy is asking people to remain in their seats! It's not like the guy or anyone around him was disabled and could not get off their a**.

SO WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

A) Ignore him and continue to stand for great plays
B) Jack the dude
C) Call for an usher and ask for a "ruling"
D) Tell him to go find another seat (there were several empty seats nearby)
E) Other thoughts?

I went with options A and D.

Oh and depending how early it was this happened eat whatever gives you gas. A couple of hot dogs maybe?

Never ceases to amaze me how some people will go to a game and try to get others to tone it down. I've been to high school championship games in the Uni-Dome where people near me were trying to get people to sit down and stop yelling whenever there was a big play. Stay home if you don't want to make any noise.

Drunk and disorderly fans should be escorted out. But a game is where you yell and holler and scream when your team makes a big play. Anyone who doesn't like that should stay home.

I'd continue doing what i was doing until and usher told me to stop. Especially if you're just standing during big play/when everyone else is standing. now if you're standing the entire time he might have a legit beef. Even though I don't think he should.

I would politely tell him that his investment in no way guarantees him he will be able to sit down and see the game so perhaps he should get his tickets before you do next time.

Tell him to go back to assisted living and catch the game on the tube. Tourney game = obligation to our kids to stand up & scream. That's the beauty of the home court advantage.

Had the same issue during the Ohio State game earlier this year. We were sitting by some friends 3 rows in front of some 40 year old arrogant ***, not in our seats, so ushers asked us to go to our seats. The seats in front of the guy were open so proceeded to the ticket office to purchase the tickets right in front of him. unfortunately they were sold.

moral of the story, if you are in your seat, you are free to do as you please in your own seat.

This.
If he wants to be guaranteed to be able to sit down, he should fork over the $$ and get front row seats.

No way am I sitting on great plays, but standing the whole game would be a bit much, not that you and your friends were doing that.

This has happened to me and I just say. Iam really sorry but I am here to cheer and If the game is exciting I will be standing. I always try to be as polite as I can but it seems like they get more ****** with the politeness. Its almost like you should(and I will never do this because Im not a mean person) tell the guy to f off. Seems like they want you to either sit or fight with them. When you are polite and smile they just hate it. I also told a guy onetime "No thankyou" he didnt know what to do.

Nope, we were getting up for probably 5-10 seconds for the dunks, and some of the steals ... and when the Hawks were on a run a couple of times for the defense. It's not like we were standing up the whole team like the students do (which I think is great).

The old fart was probably pi$$ed when he walked in and saw the size of the crowd, knowing there'd be no "Comfy, Sleepy, Nappy Time" and just became more irritated that people had the audacity to "Jump up and down, screamin' like a crazy person!" when "This never happened when that last feller was coachin'!" and totally blocking his and Mildred's view...

Seriously, the old money donors need to start watching from the sleepy comforts of home if they don't want to do anything but sit there with their arms folded, waiting to get "some that good ice cream" at halftime...
