Football: Missing out on the CFP and losing in the Rose Bowl, and the team effectively finished second in the Big 10 by losing the title game to MSU.

Basketball: Regular season title, and losing in the BTT title game. Or, 2nd place regular season and win the BTT. 2-3 seed in the NCAA, and losing in the Elite 8.

In my mind, the CFP is equivalent to the final four, and Rose Bowl is more like Elite 8.

Tough to compare football to hoops though, where hoops is more post-season tournament based, and football is more or less all about the regular season, plus a bowl.

Rose bowl would be equivalent to final four in old system. In current setup I would say a day 3 in big ten tourney and elite 8 run would be comparable to the football season.

Getting to the Final Four in BB would be a greater accomplishment than getting to the Rose Bowl in FB.

I would say if Iowa made the Elite 8 it would be on par. Hopefully they would keep the game close for more than the first 3 minutes....

The Iowa basketball schedule is a lot tougher than the Iowa football schedule was. I don't know where the basketball team will end up, but they have done pretty good so far.

I agree. I don't see this Iowa basketball team backing down from anyone. It's basketball so we could have an off night, but on a big stage, whoever we are playing should expect a fight.
