IDK, I say keep him at DC and hire an offensive minded HC. I agree with everything else you said.Parker does the best pressers in Iowa football, period. It’s refreshing to hear a guy who knows football inside and out at a high level talk about schemes and players in a totally non-bullshit way. He doesn’t dance around questions, doesn’t say “That’s football,” and he doesn’t pussyfoot around when it comes to talking about players.
You would never hear that remark about Nick Niemann being faster and having a better skill set than his starting senior brother come from Kirk. Never. He’s too PC and I love that kind of talk from Phil. He wasn’t an asshole but at the same time he told it exactly how it is.
I say Parker for the next head coach.
"Brian Ferentz said…BF had an interesting take on the Wisconsin game. You see, according to BF, Iowa was actually running well against Wisconsin, and should have run more.
I see where you’re coming from, but Dantonio became a hell of a HC and never coached the offensive side of the ball.IDK, I say keep him at DC and hire an offensive minded HC. I agree with everything else you said.
Not likely. That statement came in response to a reporter pressing him on Nick Niemann and how the secondary would stack up next year.I would be willing to bet that Parker told the older brother what he was going to say ahead of time.
I agree with you; I just fear that he's been around Kirk too long... People tend to take on personalities of other people they are around a lot. Maybe he's picked up some tendencies, maybe he hasn't.I was half kidding
I see where you’re coming from, but Dantonio became a hell of a HC and never coached the offensive side of the ball.
There are lots of parallels between the two. Both played DB in college, both were long time DB coaches and B1G defensive coordinators. I think Parker is smarter than both of the Ferentzes when it comes to football, and would be more likely to make rational decisions based on his team’s abilities...as opposed to trying to force ten pounds of shit in a five pound bag, o matter how much he spills on his shoes, a lá Ferentzball.

The more I think about this, the more sick I feel. Like father, like son.BF had an interesting take on the Wisconsin game. You see, according to BF, Iowa was actually running well against Wisconsin, and should have run more.
If Brian Ferentz becomes the next head coach (which he will) I will probably become one of the passive, “read about it in the papers” fans that I hate. The more I think about this, the more sick I feel. Like father, like son.

He didn’t go to Ben and say, “Okay Ben, if someone asks me about your brother I’m going to tell them that he’s faster and probably better than you.”
That’s absurd.
It’s obvious you disagree with me, but you still don’t see the absurdity in assuming Parker told Niemann before the presser that if anyone asked him about his brother he was going to tell them he’s faster and better? Especially when he’s responding to a random question? Come on. Parker was just answering the question honestly and without the sugar coating on it, which is what I like about the guy.OK. Assume you have evidence for your position. I don't. Thanks.

I think I could get behind that, and I think I will be pretty mad if the job is just handed over to Brian.I say Parker for the next head coach.
Prepare to be mad.I think I could get behind that, and I think I will be pretty mad if the job is just handed over to Brian.
