What Uthoff addition says about starting line-up

This...is an example of ridiculous. He practiced an entire year with Fran's team...and played in some games. Unproven player...perhaps. Young bigs often take time to develop.

But even with the "for the most part" qualifier, your statement is a bit silly.

His statement is fairly accurate. Olaseni was hurt most of the season. Especially the timing of the injury, right after the season started, at the most critical time for him to see significant minutes, to gain any valuable experience. Hip flexors can last a long time. They can take months to heal. It did for Gabe.

We haven't seen what Olaseni can do. But we will see his skills develop this year. Barring he doesn't get Mayitis and end up with another injury right after the start of the season, again...

Lets look at what Fran has done with the front court in 3 years:

Inherited:
-Cole
-Brommer
-Archie

Brought in:
-Basabe
-White
-Olaseni
-Meyer
-Woody
-Uthoff

I didn't include McCabe, just because did he inherit him, or bring him in? Either way, the upgrade in talent is soooooooo night and day about the previous coaching staff, it is hard not to be very, very excited about the future.

Another thing that has become painfully obvious, is that Fran is going to recruit and play a face up 4 man, rather than a traditional down low post 4 man. It seems Fran wants to have a 4 that can hit a 3, has at least decent ball skills, but still has the height to hold their own down low.

Not necessarily. He's big time in on Cliff Alexander who is as traditional of a 4 as it gets.

I would love to have Cliff join his buddy Mo Fleming at Iowa, but just saw a note on the IU BB board that indicated that Cliff is a heavy MSU lean.

Not surprising, as Izzo has been cultivating a relationship with Alexander for awhile now. I saw Izzo sitting in the front frow in the Curie gym in a televised game of Curie vs Simeon in Feb. I am sure he was there for both Jabari Parker and Cliff.

As for Cliff...he looked like a true center to me...young Dwight Howard type of body.

I predict he will average a double double.

And Lick didn't even recruit Cole.

He brought in Brommer Archie and Cougil. All you can do now is laugh. Thank god thats over.

if only herby was here to get all uppity about how he said it would only happen if he started. and then talk about how aw is a 3 and not a 4.

People always get too worked up about who "starts" a game. Big deal. It's who finishes the game that matters.

So let's see. We are predicting our 2013/2014 starting lineup in June of 2012? Really? wow. Enough with the Uthoff stuff already. It's already old. How about we focus on the 2012/2013 season first?

For somebody who is on a Hawkeye message board and has Basketball in his screen name, it seems like you really don't like discussing Iowa basketball, which can include looking to the future because it's exciting...

It's a message board for cripe's sake. Take a chill pill, brah.
