what question would you like to ask Kirk?

1. why no bubble screens this year? with two WRs that can make plays, seems like a natural?

2. why was Stanzi taking the snap from center yesterday on third down when he got sacked at the end of the game? were we thinking play action would fool them at that point?

3. if you had a good friend working for you who was doing a mediocre job, would you get rid of him?

Why hasn't Coker played more and why did you remove him from the game for most of the game after a dominate 1st quarter? Also, why LB's are still covering wide receivers?

Would you rather have a great OC with head coaching aspirations or a below avg. OC who nobody else is remotely interested in hiring?

What in the world does KOK have on you as blackmail to be the highest paid employee in the state of Iowa and put up year after year with his incompetence... why are we the only team in the nation to never send a blitz... how long are we going to stick with this bend and don't break defense that apparently everyone has figured out and why am I a drunk?
let me answer that I love the hawkeyes........

What specific areas of your coaching and gameday management and preparation do you feel you need to improve on going into next year?

Opposing teams continually line their top receivers in the slot to match up against our LB's, how do you plan to adjust to that formation next year since it really hurt us this year?

The offense at the end of the year really lacked any kind of continuity or purpose. What is your offensive philosophy?

Is it too much to ask for you and your coaching staff to be as prepared as you make your players?

The sad thing is most of us could answer these questions for him...

... so could every other coach in the Big 10.

What techniques do you employ to try to get your teams to not play down to inferior competition?

Aren't there any other defensive schemes we can employ to not have LB'ers covering WR'ers?

Do you have any stats to show why having your QB under center during several last-minute, potential game-winning 2-minute drills is better than a shotgun?

What sort of in-season aerobic conditioning activities do you have?

Some of our DL were continually taken out of passing situations in the 4th quarters of some games this year...why is that?

Do you allow burning of early-season redshirts in order to keep players happy, or do you feel they will develop and play significant roles (other than special team)

There are approximately 14 special teams plays which a team can misfire on: (bolded items represent Iowa miscues this season in 11 games)

Kickoff run back for TD
Clipping/holding on kick/punt returns
Punt run back for TD
Blocked punt
Missed XP
Missed FG
Blocked XP
Blocked FG
Incorrect punt coverage on 4th down
Safety allowed
Kickoffs kicked out of bounds
Kickoffs going less than to the opponent's 10 yard line
Shanked punts

Please explain how you prepare for/practice to avoid these 14 potential plays?

Coach, what was your expectations this year. Did you meet it ? Do you feel your 7-23 record in close games is a reflection on you?

1) What would you consider to be your strengths?

2) Your weaknesses?

3) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

4) Assuming that you would accept any accountability for the results of this past season; what would you change?

I have so many - not even sure where to begin. Don't think KF would give any satisfaction other than a 'coach speak' answer. BAU for him

Do you think the other team is expecting us to run when DJK and McNutt are both out of the game?

Any thought on putting a defensive spy on mobile QBs?

The fly over, that was pretty sweet huh?

Over the last decade your defense is consistently ranked in the top 20% and the offense ranked in the bottom 50%. Are you recruiting a lot better athletes for the defensive unit? If not how do you explain the large disparity in performance and is it a factor in evaluating coaches job performance?
