What people don't get about USC

The Trojans were able to stagger their penalties. They took the bowl bans over the last two years and are just now starting the scholarship limits. That will go until 2015.

Although the Trojans 12 player class is ranked high, it leaves very little room for error or injury.

Beyond this, they still have to stay at 75 total scholarships until 2015. Last I heard, they weren't down to that number.

So, for any of you who think USC is an example to show PSU's sanctions won't hurt, just watch next year and beyond.

Plus the level of players USC gets are far better than the players that PSU gets.

Even with 15 scholarships a year USC would probably field a better starting offensive and defense than most teams including teams from the SEC.

But like you said, they are a couple injuries away from being completely derailed this year. Their RB situation is already in trouble but their QB & WRs are so great that people aren't talking about it.

They appealed their sanctions for 2 years and stockpiled high school talent during that time. PSU is not going to appeal.

It pretty hard to miss when all your guys are 4 and 5 star. Not to mention given less competition these guys know they will get playing time..
SC will probably not miss a beat

Penn State is not on the level of USC, so this will hit them, and hit them hard. Especially given kids can transfer out.. That is the biggest difference

Yeah, you might want to go back and look at USC's vaunted 2009 and 2010 recruiting classes to see how many guys are on the depth chart or even still on the team.

Seriously, they signed 12 guys and still weren't under the 75 player total.

A couple Mitch Mustain types and things change quickly.

I believe they only lost 10 scholly's per year, I don't think they are bound by a player total limit unlike PSU. So the 75 player total is not an issue. They signed like 30 kids in 2011, because they were appealing the NCAA ruling, it gave them a chance to load up a bit.

Penn State has no chance to do this.
