What is wrong with you?

Who is to say that USC wouldn't have won if they punted? You don't know that. Second, if they went for it and didn't get it then ISU automatically wins. Three points gives us a shot to win, zero points doesn't. Also, why don't you yell at Davis for putting Iowa in that position in the first place instead of the coach. If Davis catches a very catchable ball they would have had a first down possibly a TD.

Your hypothetical "whatif you lose the game by trying WIN the game" argument is rather weak considering the entire setting of yesterday's game. And you would agree with me that lots of players performed badly across all phases. It was a team loss because everyone contributed the mistakes. Ergo, you would agree that Iowa doesn't have a good team right now.

Having said that, there were positive, clutch moments by some of those players as well. By not trying to WIN the game may do more harm than you might think. You gotta take calculated risks as a highly-compensated, well though-of head coach whose record against instate rival is pretty meh, at best.

Two timeouts and the keys to the Cessna are in the hands of your eldest pilot. You gotta put him in that situation and allow him to succeed. Even if they come up short and hit that mountain, at least he went down in a blaze of glory. If we can't be heroes, David79, just for one day? then what's the point of playing these games?

Its laughable that people still throw out, the players have moved on and the fans need to too. Somebody should tell olddude that he doesn't actually have any influence on the games and whether you move or not does not matter in the slightest.

And I've moved on and accepted the fact that we will never win 10 games or compete for a B10 title until we get new coordinators.

It was also supposed to be a close game too, evidenced by the point spread that seemed to eerily drop a point and a half the day before the game. You have to prepare for the close ones. Iowa has a terrible record in close games, but semiparadoxically has a pretty good record vs. The spread. So basically that means there have been some stinkers against bad teams. But this team gave up 150 yds to a spread team in the 1st week. A middle of the road FCS team at home. We slipped and slides our way to a 34-7 win. We still haven't maintained our traction as a team.

The playcalling (here we go again, but yeah it sucks) well I already said it. It wasn't going as planned and can't seem to latch onto a rhythm. It was like watching two awkward teenagers slowdancing for the first time. Out of sync and sad at times. But working! But then not working...then peed the pants

Well, all is not that terrible, considering they've been there before. It's just frustrating that at certain times, some decisions, to lay there and not take advantage of an opportunity, are the norm haha. Players play tentatively if their coaches are teaching them to.

I drink too much, I'm a bit overweight and I watch too much TV. These are just a few things of what's wrong with me.

I thought we were all going to reveal what's really wrong with ourselves in this thread.

Agree with OP ... Time to move on ... Can't undo last Saturday ... Life does indeed go on after a football loss ... Still love the Hawks and always will ...
