What is up with KF?

I think some in this thread are still trying to deal with disappointment and are not coping so well.

+1 Not grounded in reality. I just seems to me that if we win, he's the greatest coach ever, if we lose a few of those close games, he is not worth having around.

There are some privacy issues here. You can't just go public with health information without the permission of the injured player or coach. Therefore I would assume that we have developed a policy of "no response" and leave it at that. Folks, we're talking some very huge liability issues for not protecting their privacy and I'm sure that the university has developed some policies to deal with it.

I don't really have an issue with him not coming out and saying one way or the other if he's concussed or not. But I think it's pretty obvious, and some of his remarks just don't sound right regarding the issue (such as his response to the possible connection to the first concussion and A-Rob's recent fumbles).

Harty: Robinson learning football is violent sport | Hawk Central

I hate to say it but I am losing some respect for KF. Yeah, I know feel free to rip me but I don't get why he would make the apparent snide comments about a topic everyone in the football world is focusing on lately, and rightly so, and that is Concussions. Your star running back, who has been your heart and soul this season, has been concussed twice in the last three games and the first one was arguably preventable. Just man up KF and while you and the football program are at it why don't you come out and tell us definitively if ARob was concussed? " ... there is no reason to be alarmed in Adam's case..." So having two concussions in the past three games is no reason to be alarmed? Because you say so? What do the doctors say? Why the veil of secrecy? And while we are at it why did it take so long to share information about the extent of Norm's health issues? If Norm and his family requested that then fine but if not then what gives? Maybe it is time to hire a publicist because you owe more to Hawkeye fans than your "no answer" answers. (See his response to the alleged locker room fight as well). The "execution" of your communication needs some work. Is this how they do it in the "NFL"? Doesn't matter. This isn't the NFL.

We don't need to be your friend but don't feel I know you at all. An enigma, wrapped in a mystery, blah, blah, blah.

Yes, I am a Hawkeye fan, and yes, I believe it is OK to be a critical fan. I have never criticized a player but the coaches are paid public employees, have chosen this profession and can be criticized when warranted. They are grown men. The world doesn't end.

Oh yeah, and the Iowa media needs to grow a pair. Pretty sad.

I suppose that you didn't consider that he didn't want his players to make any excuses for the loss?

Furthermore, as Bo Pelini has learned ... you don't **** off refs because they're human and can unknowingly hold grudges. Through the years, Ferentz has learned that lesson.

Lastly, Ferentz schools his team to play smart and tough. If you watch Bob Sanders ... Bob made plenty of hits ... just like the one that ARob took. Ferentz wants to promote that sort of aggressiveness and attitude. Of course Ferentz doesn't want any players to get concussed and they take steps to minimize it ... however, football really is a violent sport.
