What is now considered a successful season?

Given the amazing start, and the fact that our remaining schedule is against the number 8, 11, 12, 13, and 14 teams in the conference (according to this week's BTN power rankings), I think 11-1 is good, 12-0 is great, and 10 or less wins is a disappointment, with each win less than ten increasing the disappointment exponentially.

Wow as a fan base we went from "we'll be lucky to beat Illinois State" to "10 wins will be a disappointment.". Wow, just wow.

I said before season started I thought we would be 10-2 if everything came together. We still have some injuries and with CJ banged up its going to be tough to win out but this team has already surprised everyone in America the way they play so who knows.

You guys are a tough, greedy crowd! I've been one of the biggest "fire KF" posters around here and even I'm happy. You guys want it all!
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Obviously, getting to Indy is a success, whether we are 10-2, 11-1 or 12-0. At 10-2, WINNING at Indy would still be a success, but would (like 2009 at times) still leave us all with those "Oh, what could have been!" moments.

Too many things can happen for me to say 9-3 would automatically mean "not a success". And 12-0 followed by a bi*ch-slapping in Indy would also feel kind of hollow unless we were to win a good bowl game.

Again, the variables make it impossible to say, definitively, what constitutes "success".

So much depends on injuries and getting this team healthy, but I think a West Division championship or co-championship is realistic now, with a spot in the Big Ten title game. That would be a milestone for this program. If Illinois could beat Wisconsin this weekend, 2 losses would do it for Iowa. Iowa is the "hunted" team now.....the next 5 are gonna be TOUGH

Good question, nobody thought we would start the year 7-0. I was expecting another 6-8 win season with a bowl game. I don't believe Iowa will win out the regular season and losing Drew Ott for the season will be tough to over comeand seeing CJ and Canzeri banged up also has me concerned. But after a 7-0 start I think you have to raise the bar to at least 10 wins. I would be greatly disappointed if Iowa lost any of the remaining home games (Maryland, Minnesota, and Purdue). I am not taking @Indiana and @Nebraska for granted.

So 10 wins for me.

If you mean wow it's impressive what this team has done to change expectations, I agree. If you mean wow it's ridiculous to change expectations after starting 7-0 and finishing with the worst teams in the conference, then terrible take.
