What is Iowa known for?

Obviously most of us follow the Hawks with a lot of passion and know the insides and outs of what all has happened, good and bad, in the program over the years. I wonder, what would be the top 5 things that college football fans who are not Iowa fans would think of since our Orange Bowl win? Are any of the 5 things good?

Underachieving. Disappointment. Generating significant frustration throughout the fanbase.

#1 Potatoes

Actually had a buddy in the Navy, everyone kept saying things about potatoes and the Buckeyes. He would get mad, and they would ask what came from Iowa then. And he would always say, "John Wayne and Dan Gabel, the 2 toughest SOB's that ever lived".

No, not ouch! Not intended to hurt! Note smiley and eye-roll!
C'mon, man, I ain't your enemy. You have to know by now that I poast a lot of stuff with which you disagree. Keep that in mind and try not to get so steamed at me all the time. Everybody else knows I'm a harmless doofus, why don't you?
It's a freakin' message board; this ain't a cancer-curing institute. Leave seriousness at le door.:p

Since the Orange Bowl win on January 5, 2010:
1. Mediocrity/Underachieving
2. Overpaying Ferentz
3. Hiring Greg Davis, who most around the country (especially in Big XII country) view as incompetent
4. Black and gold striped stadium
5. Rhabdo

Not mad. Just ouch cause you nailed me good. (No homo)

An attempt at a serious answer:

1) Kirk Ferentz - I think this is typical of any coach that's been with a program for many years

2) good o-line - even when the line isn't good people seem to assume Iowa has a good o-line

3) unathletic - I think people think this of most Big 10 teams and it has been true of Iowa for the most part

4) run first offense

5) 2nd tier Big 10 team

#2 is something I consistently hear from college football fans all over.

I don't think most college football fans have any idea how much Ferentz is paid. Now if you asked them to guess, they wouldn't come close and when you told them how much, they'd start laughing at you.

1. Rebuild mode every year since
2. AIRBHG
3. New staff for 1st time in Kirk's tenure
4. Rhabdo
5. Onside freaking kicks!

Losing to Minny 2 years in a row. One of the 15 worst teams in country.
