What is Incoming Freshman Isaiah Moss Capable Of?

Uhl at the 2? I would much more expect Jok, Sapp, and due to being hurt last year we don't really know what we have in Ellingson.

I think Uhl has the ability to penetrate from the wing off the dribble and then post up a 6'-5" or smaller defender. If you go back to his HS highlights and then to much of what he did last season, he was perimeter oriented off the dribble. I really do think he can play the 2. SAPP is going to have to play PG mostly with he and MG the only pgs on the team.

I still see Jok starting at the 2, but I think Uhl is swing player at the 2 through 4 to get minutes. He's a mismatch at the 2 and 4 spots. Uhl will be our 3 starter in '16.

People have been saying Uhl can play the 2 but I don't see it. He isn't a real threat from the 3 point line. He's a 3 or 4.

Rating classes is really an art of oversimplification. Six 3 star kids to them means six average players who won't make an impact and no eye test is involved. In reality, the odds are that at least a couple of these kids will over-perform their ratings and be really good.

I believe I. Moss was offered by Hoiberg and Bruce Pearl. Nuff said.

Probably will have at least 1 that will over-perform but that's a lot of what Fran is capable of doing. Having 6 3* kids also means odds are more likely that a least a couple won't pan out as well.

With the shortened shot clock I think Fran is going to have to have to play guys that can put pressure on the defense. Uhl has demonstrated that. Uthoff is good at it. Jok can shoot, but he looked like a turnover ready to happen last year. Iowa has experienced seniors that should be able to perform in that manner. The incoming guys look like they are definitely capable once the get acclimated to the offense and defense.

Every week that goes by that Moss isn't qualified, is a hit to the probablility that he ever makes it to Iowa. Not good.

Fran said a week or two ago that he expects Moss to qualify. What new information do you have that if he won't now, assuming that what he needs to do couldn't have been taken care of in such a short time?

I think you're correct that his jumper isn't there, yet, or at least it wasn't last season. But he definitely has the handles to play some 2 and he's definitely a willing shooter. I think he would be an absolute mismatch as a 2.

Regarding Moss - one media source reported this week that he had participated in his HS graduation ceremonies. Take that for however you want but this person's guess was that whatever academic requirement it is that yet needs to be fulfilled does not represent a significant roadblock.

yeah a lot of times even if a kid has to take summer school to graduate they still let him walk with his classmates. So who really knows. Its unfortunate he wont be playing in the PTL.
