what in the hell was that?

You may recall Alf knocked off the defending national champs in his first season at Iowa. I don't think that helped things along any more for him than it will for Keno.

That's exactly why I try not to get too hung up on the outcome of any single game. For that same reason, we shouldn't get too down because of the Purdue game, nor should we get too excited if we beat NW tomorrow night.

Regarding Keno, I really don't get the obsession with him. Other than the fact that he is Mr. Davis's son, likes to play up-tempo, and had ONE big year in the MVC. In fact, that was his only season as a head coach at the time Providence hired him. So Keno is extremely unproven. I honestly feel much better having Fran as our coach.

Well, we will see at the end of the season on Purdue, they just look like they are on a mission.
On to Cully, he is a good player...maybe you will see it one day. Anyway, Fran likes him and that is good enough for me. Payne was messed up from the start of the season. I am guessing that you were unimpressed with a freshman that came in at the PG position for Iowa that actually had more assists than turnovers in well over a decade and was fourth in scoring last season. This is all after having to play about 36+ minutes a games as Iowa had no backup PG as they don't now. I have no issues with Cartwright other than Iowa has nobody to turn to with Payne out. Remember this, an injured Payne still was starting over Cartwright at the start of the season. Payne will be a very good player for Iowa, he fits into what Fran wants to do very well, he is a very smart player and makes good choices. If he wasn't hurt, you would have a different opinion.

I hope you are right and maybe I am being too harsh but just basing it on what I have seen. I think he played ok as a freshman just wasn't overly impressed like you I guess. He is definitely a better outside threat than Cartwright but you have to admit that Cartwright is way quicker off the dribble and way better defensively. I hope he comes back and contributes I just see more upside with Cartwright.
