WHAT IF.....

Oh Funny especially since 2 of the 4 mentioned are on the defense. But I get your question to a point especially after watching BF call plays against jNW last year (head scratcher).
That game was so boring and frustrating to watch I fell asleep/passed out halfway through the 4th quarter. I've never done that before!

Nope. The Big 12 "we must protect Texas" refs screwed Nebraska out of the Big 12 title that year. Suh was on Nebraska and the guy was unstoppable. He was held almost every play. The refs also gave Texas a little special cooking on the clock on that last drive that let them kick the game winning FG. I ain't one to lightly praise Nebraska, but Suh's performance in that title game was among the finest performances I've ever seen in college football.

There is absolutely no way Iowa would have gotten into that title game with an undefeated Texas and Alabama sitting there as well. It's a shame, too, because I think Iowa with Greene versus Bama would have been one for the ages. Bama was the better team, but the matchup would have been really good and Iowa would have certainly had a puncher's chance in that game.

Somewhere out there in one of the parallel universes, Greene stayed, Stanzi didn't get rolled and Nebraska didn't get screwed. Iowa / Bama was a game for the ages.
Damn, legal weed is great!
JK;)

Nah man, in that parallel universe, Nick went on to dominate at Miami and was so embarrassed by his final collegiate loss to Ferentz that he never paced the sidelines again in college. Greene came back, Iowa beat Florida for the title and has won 4 more bince then.

I think I've matured (enough) over the years to the point where I recognize that past performance is no guarantee of future outcomes. Each season stands on its own, for example, 2009 compared to 2010 - explain that one. Heck, the same holds true for each game. How else do you explain whipping Ohio State one week and getting your lunch handed to you by Wisconsin the next? However, the speculation game makes for good banter, and allows you to make arguments that are irrefutable.
