Here are his stats from yesterday's telecast. Prior to the 2nd round of the open Speith had 3 putted only 18 times in his last 1000 competitve holes. That is an amazing stat for the fast greens they play on now. It is as much due to him hitting hole high in the right place on his approaches as it is his great putting.
Friday and yesterday he 3 putted 5 times in 18 holes. All golfers know they leave a few shots on the course and not off their scorecard but Spieth is playing # 15 in the third round and he is tied for the lead. With his normal putting he would probably have a 4-5 stroke lead.
Simply amazing. But it is a jammed leaderboard now with tons of top names and a few no names who are playing really well.
And today spieth is out driving Garcia by 20 yards.
