What happened to the jailbreak screen?

I don't know about the jailbreak screens but I'd LOVE to see some halfback screens thrown in. I haven't watched every play this year but I'd be willing to bet that we've run less than 10 halfback screens. I'd like to see at least one or two a game...I think we have some decently athletic linemen who could get out and lead block for ARob.

1999-2000 The O-line play wasn't good and McCann needed to get rid of the ball quickly. Of Kevin Kaspers 157 career receptions 156 of them seem to come off the bubble screen.:D

Mo Brown and C.J. Jones were really effective off of the jailbreak screen.

Tried to use Paul Chaney a few times but he has dropped the ball.

Jailbreak or bubble screen what is the proper terminology?

Didn't really answer the question just killing time before the steeler game.

I believe Brodell would have been a guy that we utilized the jailbreak with, but he definitely lost a step after his hamstring injury against Wisky in '07. We also used it with Hinkel a few times (believe he scored at least one of his 4 TD's against Minnesota on a jailbreak).

The OP is on to something......It just seems a little odd that the play has completely disappeared from the playbook. I could be wrong, but i don't think the play has been run since '07 when Chaney dropped a couple.

Well if we dont see it in the next twenty years than no, but he may hold it in his pocket for maybe 10 to 15 years.

DJK is the prime target for it. Kind of the new C.J. Jones. Even Sandeman would be comparable to Hinkel as far as big play potential (meaning not a big threat for that), and we ran it with Hinkel a few times.

I'm pretty sure we did try it in '08 with Brodell, but not more than twice, early in the season. Still, that's 2 years.

I would have rather seen us hand it off to Coker on a delayed draw the way Indiana was getting a push against the o-Line at times.
