What Happened to Bench Scoring

Well, we were missing Basabe which cause Josh to be inserted as a starter. Zach, well I don't think anything really needs to be said. As a matter of fact, the entire bench was non existent tonight. That's pretty unacceptable.

What has Jarrod done in the last month? I thought Clemmons played well tonight. Where is our double-double machine off the bench?

The bench factor has been a non-factor lately.

This hasn't happened in the last two games. It has been a. trend for awhile.

Isn't it quite ironic how that "quality depth" that was considered by all the pundits, experts and laymen, alike, to be a huge assets has become this mismanaged nuisance to the point that it's diluted the potential of this team?

This team can't lose 1 player -- a senior pf that was considered the 4th / 5th "guy" of the starting 5 --without becoming completely discombobulated.

Particularly in Big Ten play. He just needs to get stronger - that has to be his priority in the offseason.

How is he going to get stronger? He's got a frame that Kate Moss is envious of. He needs to get craftier and find his niche because he isn't going to be packing on many pounds.

The kid has had 2.5 years of offseason between sitting out at Iowa and RS at whisky. Don't think he's can get stronger. Needs to find his handle skills as he fumbles the ball all the time.

I am not as worried about scoring as I am defensive stops. It seems like no one wants to play defense. I just can't see a team win games when they don't play consistent defense and we have too many guys that take plays off on defense. I am fine with getting beat on defense it happens but to not even put up effort is sad.

This is very important for next year. Just goes to show kids don't know what the B10 is like until they have a season on the court

the team doesn't have quality depth

the team just has a lot of guys who get minutes

jok is better than josh was as a freshman, but gets less pt due to being on a stronger team

utoff hit a wall and is physically overmatched

apart from gabe getting put backs and josh shooting, this bench does not have much to offer offensively, although some of the shot selection from the reserves can be offensive

they get a kid who will need a year or two to develop in ellingson, and another tweener forward in uhl (who will better than utoff or white -- he has the frame to put on muscle to handle 4s, and has the ball skills for the 3). barring a 5th year transfer or a juco recruiting jackpot with atwood, the team will likely have struggles with bench scoring next year. jok might be ready for 15min a game, or it might be uhl (if we're lucky, both). with ogs and utoff probably moving to the starting lineup, the rotation will have to be cut down.

All he had to do the last 2+ years was focus on getting stronger and he hasn't done it. To say he's physically weak is an understatement. He also appears to lack a killer instinct

I think most have nailed it....

Ogelsby is finally staring to score in the double digits and playing at a higher level but pulled into the starting lineup last night so obviously that took from bench scoring.

And then there's the inconsistency of Uthoff's scoring. Mike G passed Uthoff to be the 3rd leading scorer for the season.

Uthoff hasn't scored in double figures since the win at Ohio State. Mike has been in double digits the last 5 games so I'm suprised that Uthoff had been the 3rd leading scorer on the team up until last night.

Perhaps Jarrod is hitting the "wall" that many talk about playing his first complete big 10 season.
