What Former Hawkeyes Would Have Cashed in on NIL Rule?

Since I am the first in line I will say Tim Dwight. Might as well get the obvious one out the way first.:)

Chuck Long.

He could have made a mint. Long was the face of very successful Hawkeye teams in the mid 80s and a Heisman runner-up.

Local retailers would have had his likeness on everything, and you can bet he would have shown up on numerous commercials as well.

Sir Jamalot, (Wright), Settles, Marble, BJ, White, Kingsbury, in BB, Long, CJ, Hock and Fant, Dwight, Station, Sanders, Clark, many, many more.

Gallery, Angerer, Wadley, Scherff, and Sanders from the KF era.

Long, Hanks, Cook, He Who Shall Not be Named, and Houghlin for the Fry era.

Good list, but for as much as the hardcore fans appreciate an Outland trophy winner like Gallery/Scherff, I just don't know if they move product like someone who scores TDs? I think offense always has an advantage over D in marketability, and skill positions over lineman.

Chris Street

Not sure how you make the money work in terms of who gets what, but there would have been money before and after his passing.

****sidenote***** And before people come at me, yes, I know it is the elephant in the room.

Gallery was a god on campus when he came back for his last year. He could have easily sold 50k t-shirts with his face on them. I imagine the same could be said about Brandon.

I am not sure about Hock, he was really a one year explosion, so I am not sure if he would have had time to capitalize on it.

If KF doesn't let them have twitter, do you think he will let them shoot commercials in season? I am betting not.

Will this make KF change his twitter policy in order to help recruiting? I would guess yes.
