Florida Gators. I'll never forgot the crap those bastards were spouting over here after the 2006 Outback Bowl.

On the flip side, South Carolina fans seemed pretty cool.

Wisconsin fans were the toughest to deal with after that 2010 game in Kinnick. That said, I really dont hate any fan bases in the midwest. Everyone I deal with has been pleasant and we are all cut from the same cloth. I have plenty of Iowa state friends and have had good experiences with all the big 10 teams and even some bowl teams. But there are plenty of teams I still 'hate' for the sake of the rivalry or history

1. Nebraska fans
2. ISU fans
3. Iowa fans

as a gigantic Iowa fan, it's unfortunate our own fan base has been skyrocketing up my list for years.

You know what I hate? Trolls that call themselves Spearchucker. What? Was jigaboo already taken?

I don't mind ISU the school or their teams, but their fans are some of the biggest idiots I've ever dealt with.

Despite the fact they are one of the worst football programs in history they're still arrogant because in their minds beating Ferentz coached Iowa teams means they're somehow better overall. Yet, they still deny it's their Super Bowl.

And while they admittedly have a good basketball program their arrogance is just mind boggling. You'd think they'd actually done something relevant in recent memory. They've made one Sweet 16 since the Eustachy days. Guess who else has made one Sweet 16 during that time period? Florida Gulf Coast. They aren't even breathing the same air as Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, etc. but their fans seem to think they are.

If the majority of their fans could just live in the real world they'd be much easier to deal with.

Is it due to the growing unhappiness with Ferentz over the past few seasons?

I don't hate Iowa State fans. I mean every fan base has their total d-bags that live in a whole other universe. I generally feel sorry for clone fans. They are truly one of the more delusional fan bases I've met. I swore I would never go to cyclone fanatic, but one day I had to see after reading some posts here. I was stunned at how awesome they truly think they are.

Obvs it is.

Yet, I agree with IGC. I admit to being frustrated and disatisfied with the results the past few years, but I think some tend to take their frustrations to a whole new level. Part of it is definitely the anonymity of the intertubes/message boards/social media; but it tends to bring out a giant contingency of mouth breathers who have yet to be able to form an intellegent and original thought (I'm not talking about most of the posters on here; even though there are a few that fit that mold - most idiots on Facebook posts are insufferable).

The point that many negative and optimistic fans, alike, miss when discussing the football team is that it is possible to have a civilized and calm convo without elevating to name calling and hatred spewing.

FTR, however, ISU fans suck the most.

ISU....There is no describing my level of hate for those ****ers. They deserve nothing but pain and suffering

yeah, it likely has to do with it, but it's the same in basketball too. The instant gratification, only as good as your last win, bipolar attitude with very little prospective that today's fan has that just gets me... and with being an Iowa fan, I guess I see our own more frequently that they start to drive me nuts. A good portion of my twitter feed, instead of enjoying Iowa's ride down the stretch in hoops last season, ****** and moaned and there was a vibe from a lot that I followed that Fran was never going to be the guy for the job. Really? I had several Hawk fans I follow calling for Fran's head after the ISU game. Annoying... i mean really, STFU... i see that crap and think, man, Iowa fans are the worst.

It's same in football too. I mean...like I want a new coach too and all, we are stale, we are predictable and we suck at crooting and all that.. but I also still love Iowa, so I'm not gonna talk **** about a coach that has been very successful and likely will go down as #1 or #2 all time in school history. It's time for him to go, I get that but does that have to be the only narrative we have until he's gone? It's hard for me to even look at this site or read twitter from "Iowa Fans" cause a huge majority suck and have no prospective or big picture views when it comes to Iowa sports. The consent with a growing majority of fans is that we're one of the worst programs in the country and that's just not true and if you try and give any other kind of narrative to "Iowa Fans" who want KF gone, then you're just settling and part of the problem.

So, yeah, I hate Iowa fans... at least 3rd most. ...maybe higher.

I think social media is part of the problem. In past I have gone on Twitter or on HN and posted something in the heat of the moment. I've stopped doing that now because usually it's not rational. There has been some frustrating times, and some people just can't control themselves especially when they can remain anonymous. The vocal minority makes the rest of the fan base look bad.
