What does Iowa have to do to win the West?

This an idiotic thread...win out and you win the West period...I hate discussions about if we win here and lose here how do we win a 3 way tiebreaker. Just win freakin ball games like Michigan State then you don't have to worry about anything like tiebreakers.

We no longer have to worry about tie breakers.

Sadly if Iowa wins out they are still in good shape. OSU will whoop Minnesota this weekend and either Nebraska or Wisc will have a loss also. It is unlikely they win out but they still control their own destiny.

The OSU/Minn games doesn't have an immediate effect on the West unless there is a tie and Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin have the same division record at the end of the season. Iowa has to win out to take the west and either Nebraska or Wisconsin has to beat Minnesota. If Iowa wins out and Minnesota does too, they play in the B1G Championship game. Correct me if I am wrong.

Taken from B1G site:

The following procedure will determine the representative from each division in the event of a tie:
(a) If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.
(b) If three or more teams are tied, steps 1 through 7 will be followed until a determination is made. If only two teams remain tied after any step, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.

1. The records of the three tied teams will be compared against each other.
2. The records of the three tied teams will be compared within their division.
3. The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5, and 6).
4. The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents.
5. The highest ranked team in the first College Football Playoff poll following the completion of Big Ten regular season conference play shall be the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game, unless the two highest ranked tied teams are ranked within one spot of each other in the College Football Playoff poll. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game.
6. The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative.
7. The representative will be chosen by random draw.

Maybe this has already been posted, but Iowa DOES NOT have to win out. Iowa must win one of the next two road games and then defeat both Nebraska and Wisconsin at home. Minnesota plays Ohio State, at Nebraska and at Wisconsin so I believe they will end up with at least 3 losses even if they defeat Iowa.

If Iowa goes 3-1 with wins over Wisconsin and Nebraska, they are the champions because Iowa wins all the tiebreakers.

You're delusional

They will have to do something I don't think Anyone outside of maybe the locker room (I hope) thinks they can do...and that's win out.

I hope the players haven't given up cause that would truly be tragic. We'll find out Saturday.
