What does each Big 10 team lose next year

I have only included seniors which average at least (4.0) points per game. Dekker, Hammons, Ferrell and Petteway are not seniors...but might decide to go and are listed. Russell is gone for sure.

WI - Jackson (9.4), Gasser (7.2), Dukan (5.1) and Kaminsky (17.5) --- Dekker (13.4)
MD - Smotrycz (4.9) and Wells (14.6)
PUR - Octeus (9.4) --- Hammons (11.2)
MSU - Trice (13.7) and Dawson (12.4)
OSU - Scott (7.8), Thompson (10.2), Williams (6.8) and Russell (19.1)
IN - None --- Ferrell (16.1)
IL - Starks (7.6), Egwu (7.0) and Rice (16.0) --- Abrams but taking medical RS
IA - White (14.5) and Olaseni (8.2)
MI - None
MN - Hollins (15.0), Mathieu (8.3) and Walker (11.7)
NE - Rivers (4.1) and Smith (4.2) --- Petteway (18.3)
NW - Cobb (5.8)
PSU - Johnson (7.4) and Newbill (21.1)
RUT - Mack (13.9)

Let me know if I missed anyone.

What an extraordinary idea Windsor! Unless OSU and MSU bring in some serious freshmen, which they more than likely will do, they are going to be hurting. If Decker leaves, Wisconsin will fall back to the pack. They probably will even if he stays. I think the conference will look like it does this year except instead of a 7 way race for 2nd it will be a log jam for 1st.

Seems like every year (this season being the exception) we all expect Wisky to have a dropoff. But it doesn't happen.

Wisconsin will still have Hayes inside and Koenig outside. Koenig for the most part replaced the production they were getting from Jackson. If Dekker stays Wiscy will still be a solid team, if he leaves who the heck knows...thats over 50 ppg they'd be losing

Iowa will be very different next year. Losing White and Gabe means probably 90% of the dunks, 100% of the alley oops, and probably 70% of the free throws (just a straight up guess) are gone.

LOL - I knew you would be pleased. I just hadn't gotten around to it yet.

better info would be who are the top five producers coming back for each team.

I disagree and it's not possible. There's nowhere to get that data. Which true freshmen will play? Who red shirted and will play? How are players developing. There are concrete numbers to support who's leaving from each team...and the points per game going with them.

MSU - 5 star 6'9" PF, 4 star 6'4" SG and 4 star 6'5" SG

OSU - Five 4 star players...6"10" C, 6'7" SF, 6'5" SG, 6'5" PG and 5'9" PG

Wisconsin will be in the top 4 unless Ryan retires...haven't heard anything to suggest he will. Michigan will have all of their injured players back...haven't signed anyone due to no seniors. Indiana will be good if Ferrell stays. Michigan State and Ohio State are just reloading.

Penn State and Rutgers will be at the bottom again. Minnesota has a good class coming in but they are losing their 3 best players IMO. Maryland has won a lot of close games this year...will probably even out next year. Illinois will most likely be what they have been for years...middle of the pack.

Nebraska should be middle of the pack if Petteway stays. Northwestern is probably going to be contending for middle of the pack status as well. Purdue will be very tough inside if Hammons returns. Iowa returns 4 of their 5 starters and 6 of their top 8 players.

I took it as meaning the top preformers from this year that will be back next year.

Wisconsin down? I guess you missed the last 14 years. They'll be talented if Dekker leaves. Hayes and Koenig will be studs and they'll bring some guy off of the bench that no one has ever heard of

Yep, sounds like a seventh place finish for IOWA. Just kidding, if we don't finish in the top four it may be Franny packing time. He will have a senior and junior laden team of his own recruits. No one to blame but himself at that point. If the freshmen look good that could buy him one more year. However if we bomb and the freshmen look weak then it could be curtains for Fran. Of course this is little ole Iowa and he may get the Barta treatment.

I guess you missed this year when they're top 5. There is almost 100% chance they will be down next year.

There is a really big window between little ole iowa and firing a coach for not finishing fourth.

Well if he finishes in fifth place or less next year and the freshmen don't offer much hope and you lose Woodbury and Gesell, who then in their right mind would keep Fran around? Maybe an AD who is not in their right mind. So Fran needs to finish in the upper half of the conference next year. Of course this season is not over yet and I am hoping they can finish on a high note. Win most of their remaining games and two or more wins in the B1G tournament and a game or two or more in the NCAA tournament, then that would change the outlook going into next year a lot. I'm am hoping for that to happen.

i am just sick of what we have been seeing in football and don't want to see a repeat of that in the basketball program too.

Fran is working on his 3rd consecutive season of finishing in the top half of the conference. It's just funny how there will always be someone who says "if Fran doesn't finish 'insert goal that is higher than he achieved here' then he needs to be fired". If he finishes 6th, people will say he should be fired for not finishing 4th. If he finishes 4th, people will say he should be fired for not finishing 2nd. If he makes the tournament, someone will say he should be fired for not making a better run. If we lose to Kentucky on a last second 3 in the tourney, people will say he needs to be fired because his teams always lose close games.

It's just crazy to me. We finally have a coach who gives us a chance to be really good and people want him to be fired because he misses a random goal they set by a bounce here and a bounce there.

You nailed it...thumbs up from me.

Let me know if I missed anyone.

I'm surprised no one has posted next year's schedule yet. Here it is...may want to match it up with personnel losses.

Home-and-Home...Indiana, Michigan, MSU, PSU and Purdue
Home....NW, Nebraska, Minnesota and Wisconsin
Away....Illinois, Maryland, OSU and Rutgers
