What did each Big 10 team lose offensively...

It's fun looking down in the standings and seeing Iowa below us....

It's fun tuning into the CBS selection sunday special and not seeing Iowa. In fact I can't remember the last season I did see them?

It's fun beating Wisconsin in basketball game after game after game... I even enjoyed watching their NCAA game...left quite the impression.

The implication of the thread is what each team lost as a means to predict their future success. Games aren't played on paper and just because one team returned quite a few players doesn't mean anything. In fact Kentucky LOST their biggest stud and are predicted to do better.

Also it doesn't account for player development. There are only 100 available minutes to be divvied up per team. Just because player A graduated and took his 26mpg with him doesn't mean that his production can't be replaced by another player filling into that role or 2-3 people filling those minutes. I'd trust coaches like Izzo and Bo could piece together winners even if their entire roster flipped. The good coaches have back up plans on top of their back up plans. It doesn't mean it isn't a struggle, but they usually get it done.

No idea what you mumbled about in this post...couldn't get past you telling me the implication of my thread...you're totally lost yet again.

The only returning and incoming big man of any proven quality is Kaminsky. WI rebounding will go down after having a average year at that statistically last year. Unless Bo finds another 4-5 that can handle heavy minutes, Dekker will spend a lot of time at the 4 by default. They better post up the guards. That's the overwhelming type of player that will be on the floor for Bo. Can't see WI picked higher than 5- probably 5-7 depending on how the rb and post defense situations play out.

Kaminsky is actually a very soft perimeter player. Wisconsin doesn't have a physical presence inside next season.

How many minutes are available?

Purdue has three players transferring. There bench has to be getting short even with the addition of those they signed. They supposedly have a good crop of freshman coming in, but we all know that doesn't translate to immediate success.

I'm loving your one-man thread here, Windsor.

Sigh...This wasn't really my intent. I posted something I thought might be interesting and intended to update the relevant information with any further developments. The same rodent/troll that has ruined so many other threads wandered over to our board and is trying to sabotage this thread as well. I'm just trying to help the little fella understand what's being posted. It's really a lot of work...primarily because the insignificant little rodent doesn't "get" it.

I updated the original post to account for Johnson. I didn't list the other 2...been using approximately 4 points per game as the cutoff. The other 2 guys combined did account for 20 minutes of PT a game. Johnson was playing 18 minutes a game and Byrd 31 so Purdue has now lost almost 2 positions (35%) worth of PT from last year.

I don't know, I'm pretty sure we won the last one.....

"but mommy, we lost in the last minute again, it isn't fair mommy!!! Bawahawahwahwah. Mommy, our 9-9 is better than their 12-6, it's no fair mommy!!!!"---Windsorhawk

Haha, that's hilarious, I too remember that time when Windsor said this exact quote. I also remember that time when someone on this website (other than the activevadger) said mommy.
/end sarcasm

The rodent reappears...coming back for more. The latest post suggests facts may be getting under your fur.

...game (2012) after game (2012) after game (2013)...NCAA game (2013). My post is accurate. Yours is both childish and inaccurate. Well I guess in all fairness it is as mature as any of your other posts.

Bo is 2-3 against Fran, with both wins coming in OT. I'd say Fran has a pretty good grip on how to beat Wisconsin.

Please......"having a good grip" on how to beat another team is what we have against Crean 11-0 and vs. Michigan 13-1 since Beilein took over. I don't even think Wisconsin took Iowa seriously until this season and 2 of those 3 wins you own came on Chris Street day and "Free Pizza" night which was like the largest crowd in 8 years at Carver.

Essentially Iowa held the same relevancy that Northwestern and Penn State had to Wisconsin. You can't get up for every game and Iowa certainly wasn't a team that got your juices flowing so to speak.

Where do you get all of this arrogance? After our worst era and your best, we STILL have more ncaa tourney appearances, wins, and final fours all time. You couldn’t even get a good lick on us while we were down, is that where the bitterness is coming from?

I suppose Ole Miss is on that same level, too. Can't say I blame you.

Who cares what happened in the 1950's? Our best era is still going on and getting better.

Bo Ryan has NEVER missed the NCAA tournament as part of the BIG. Fran McCaffery has NEVER made the NCAA tournament as part of the BIG. Get back to me when your current coach actually makes the tournament.

You guys are still living in the 80's. Did Iowa even win an Big 10 titles in that time? You guys even fired the coach (Tom Davis) that was the coach during your "glory" years. Sports in general weren't an emphasis in Madison until the 1990's. Now that the University has decided to devote resources to making it important, you see the result. 6 Rose Bowls in 20 years, huge NCAA tournament streak, Heisman winners, COY honors......face it, Wisconsin is rolling and will continue to do so.

Yet neither school has anything to show for it, a national title. So just go away or take it. Yes, Wisconsin has had the upper hand in sports lately overall, but yet with all this dominance the two programs are not far apart. If Wisconsin was truly dominating poor ole Iowa like you make it sound then games between the two should be blowouts not Wisky losses or OT wins. Congrats on having Bo Ryan and some Rose Bowl appearances, good for you, but why don't you come back when Wisky actually wins a national title. We'll be waiting patiently.

Oh. So Wisconsin only beats lesser teams when it's not Free Pizza night? But as soon as the free pizza comes out, Wisconsin can't pull it off? But because they decide to not win, not because they get beat, right? I don't get how Iowa not being relevant and giving away free pizza justifies Wisconsin losing to them. (Question: have you really played Crean 11 times and Beilein 14? They are in their 5th and 6th seasons, respectively)

Wisconsin was in the Final Four about 15 months before Bo's first season and in the tournament the season before he started. Iowa won 10 games and was in no tournament the year before Fran arrived. Those situations aren't comparable. I respect that Wisconsin has been in the top 4 in the conference in the last 12 years; but between '47 and '97, Wisconsin was in the top 4 in the conference twice and was 1-1 in the NCAA tournament. Don't act like that's an elite program.
