The magical year Lute and the hawks went on the run to beat NCState in NC and another team and then they beat Georgetown to get to the final four there was a great reception for the hawks at the old fieldhouse. It was great, there had to be 8000+ people maybe 10000+ in the old barn. I was just squished in. The wrestling team and gable got there first coming home with another national championship trophy. The place went nuts. Then it was wild for the bball team when they got there after midnite.
One other really funny big crowd get together was after LUte's first win at bloomington. I and about 5 buds went up to the IC airport and there were 500-1000 more fans there. It was great. ONe of my buddies had to walk out onto the tarmac in the dark to whizz. And then a plane landed and people rushed out the greet the team and about 4 business men in suits got out of the plane looking totally flabbergasted and bewildered. It was funny, then the two small planes landed with the team and we gave them a helluva homecoming.. IF they win tonite I wonder if any one will be there when they land
