What are the worse basketball losses in Iowa basketball history?

For some strange reason, I thought Iowa lost an exhibition game to Hamilton business college back in the day (yes they once had a basketball team... the Hamilton Aliens), but I'm no where close to being 100% sure on that. Probably dead wrong there. And, I think they said this lost to Augustana was Iowa's only 2nd exhibition loss ever at home....with the other being to the Harleem Globetrotters. I remember the UC-Riverside stinker....that has to be up there.

I think you mean Hampton and I think you mean they beat ISU, if I remember right it was a pretty important game.

I remember the Hampton game. But, that was not the game I was thinking of. Can anyone confirm if we played Hamilton College in some exhibition game? I'm probably tripping here.

Northwestern St. 2006 NCAA tourney

1988 Scott Brooks for Cal Irvine lit BJ Armstrong and Iowa up. I believe the Anteaters scored about 130 pts. that night.

Lickliter's teams had some **** losses. I remember attending a loss to Louisiana-Monroe but there were some other bad ones. Fran's first official game was an annoying loss to South Dakota State I think.

The one last night didn't count so I don't care.

Yeah, and that was in the first round, so we had to play in the consolation game the next night.
Yes, but at least the Classic was won by a very respectable UAB team coached by Gene Bartow. In other years, an Iowa-UAB game would have been an instant classic. At that point, it was maybe best the two teams missed each other.

I was just behind Iowa bench up 10th row. it's amazing I can see Fran's spit from where I sit. That was the start of new era .Iowa Players was still in Lick Mode and all it tooks for someone like Fran to wipe that lick mode off the players. I was happy that day... I have never been disappointed with the selection of new coach. Let's get mad . go Hawks!

P.S. I still have that orginal ticket stub for that home game against South Dakota State.

the worse for me:

1987 Iowa blows an 18 pt halftime lead in the Western Regional Finals vs UNLV

Bad to be sure, but I would put it at #2.

#1 (for me) was the '69-70 team losing on alast second put-back in the NCAA tournament. Best Iowa BB of all time IMO. I honestly think we would have beaten UCLA that year.
