That this incident happened, or that Iowa didn't immediately satiate their desire for news. I think it's the latter, and their criticism and lambasting is all ultimately about their own self interest. I think they could give a sh** about these kids, and will use them only to make a name and/or a story for themselves. Yes, it's a story, so report the story, but save yourselves the breath or keystrokes of the self-righteous indignation - I'm not buying it. Unless something illegal happened, or Iowa tried to bury the entire incident or do something unethical, all they have to hang their hat on is that they're pizzed that they didn't know more, sooner. I'm going to do something that I would suggest that any self-respecting journalist (an oxymoron?) would want to do - await the facts about what happened and then assess.
