Iowa State is no way in hell the 6th best team in college football. They lost to Louisiana and Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State has 4 losses and Louisiana plays in the Shit Belt Conference and beat Appalachian St. by only 3. Somebody please tell me what the hell I’m missing? That team would lose 5 games in the B1G. I pray that Oklahoma beats their ass.

The top 3 or 4 teams in the Sun Belt are legit football teams, breh. App State, Coastal, Weeziana and Troy have pretty good programs. The bigger joke is that Coastal Carolina or Cincy isn't ranked 6th. I think Coastal would be a toss up against any of the top teams in the Big 8 and it would destroy the bottom feeders and middle of that conference. Coastal played BYU on a few days notice. Somehow, ISU just jumped Coastal out of the blue despite the fact that Coastal never lost a game. It's a damned shame that even with scheduling flexibility this year we couldn't get a Coastal versus Cincy play in game for a guaranteed 4 seed in the playoff. I live squarely in Clemson country, but Coastal is getting mad love around here. I sincerely hope the G5 schools use this year as the basis for a legislative push or even an antitrust lawsuit against the playoff system because it is objectively clear they are intentionally being excluded to keep the pie within the family. They need to get it to 8 with conference champs as AQs and then give the G5 a seat at the table. These smaller programs are in an existential crisis and giving them some NY6 bowl is a shitty consolation prize for going undefeated.
 
So I don't hate Iowa State, I've said this before, I just hate LOSING to Iowa State. But Iowa State getting into the playoffs would be terrible. It would legitimize their football program and to get there before Iowa would give their fan base something to hang over our heads. So I've went from kinda rooting for them to beat Oklahoma and win the Big 12 to OH HELL NO.

There is NO way they are the 6th best team in the country. I agree with Okeefe that Coastal should be in that spot over ISU, so should Cincy, and a bunch of others. Hell I'd put Indiana over Iowa State right now.

Granted it would have to take some crazy scenarios to get Iowa State into the top 4. They would have to beat Oklahoma convincingly and then 2 of the 3 has to happen: Notre Dame would have to blow out Clemson, Ohio State would have to lose to Northwestern, or A&M would have to lose to Tennessee (the Alabama game doesn't matter).

Wonder if they'd of played 5 games in the Big this year. They're ranked top 10 but pretty certain Michigan aint playing that game. Probably a good chance a few others, who may have even had legitimate covid issues would cancel as well.

Abso-smurfly. I can understand losing to them on a missed PAT or FG with time winding down, but by 17 is a joke. No Sun Belt team is going to waltz into an SEC team that finishes the regular season in the top 10 and win. I don't care what game it is, if the number 6 team is in the SEC that team will piss pound the top of the Sun Belt.
