What a fun team to watch

Yes, team is a blast to watch with scoring coming from everywhere, high energy, lots of ball movement, good shooting, D coming around, and no ball hogging. Future looks bright, looking for revenge Sunday and maybe they could give us all a big surprise yet this year...........
The future does indeed look bright for this group of HAWKS. What really jumps out is the obvious Team Chemistry which can take a team so much farther than one with a bunch of me-first studs. I love seeing the entire bench showing genuine enthusiasm no matter who is on the floor having success versus a long face because they aren't out there. Fran has definitely assembled a TEAM that is going to do some special things so enjoy the ride!

Amazing how far playing as a team can get you. I'm not blaming Jok for the struggles but I sure hope the team doesn't revert back once he's back in the lineup, and it starts becoming the Peter Jok show again rather than the IOWA HAWKEYES show that we've had the last two games.

The ball moves so much crisper around the court with all the young kids in there. Last year the ball would be bogged down with Uthoff a lot, and it drove me nuts. He wasn't going to take it to the rim, so either just keep passing it, or do your step back move, instead of holding the ball 5 seconds and then going it.

Same goes with Pete, sometimes he holds the ball too long before taking it off the bounce. Either take it to the hole right away, or keep the ball moving.

"Oh what will we do without Jok next year? Where will the scoring come from? Trouble! Trouble! The sky is falling!"

Every year we hear that. I remember how we had NOTHING when Marble was gone. I remember we had NOTHING when White was gone. We actually DID take a dip when we lost Woody, Mike, Sapp and Uthoff - that was too much... but I think we're WAYYY better next season and that's because of the core that we have that all is getting the experience and seasoning now.

When he comes back, will Iowa revert to a half court game and/or will better opponents force Iowa into a half court.

Once Jok is back, Fran needs to treat him like any other player on the team and not make him the focal point of the offense. Sure, other teams will key off him, but the hawks have proven they can still score and create shots and move the ball without him.

That play Fran has where his top shooter (Jok, Uthoff, whoever) runs the baseline through screens constantly is just a horrible set and seems to really cram up the lane and kill ball movement. That needs to go away.

Fran's a smart guy. I'm sure he's noticed how good the player and ball movement has been. Blending Jok back into that lineup versus running plays designed to get him open will be key. They've had success both ways this year, but I like this sharing the ball/doesn't matter who gets the points style better.

Gotta agree, I hate watching them do that. Offensive player gets exhausted and ball doesn't move. Plus it takes an outstanding shooter to make that shot because you are cutting from the block area to the wing. All your momentum is carrying you away from the hoop. To then turn and make a shot in the opposite direction is very difficult.

Hawks came into Rutgers like a runaway truck.....

That fat lady sits knowing its coming and just covers her eyes like it will go away. You think she could shout to move the hell out of the way.

It's nice to be discussing about what to do with your leading scorer when he comes back instead of worrying about how we are going to compete without him.

This team is really young so it's extremely promising that they have shown they can win with only freshmen and sophomores playing (okay plus Dom). I know their overall record isn't good, and they've had some very frustrating games to watch, but ultimately the future is bright. This team is much more talented than Lick's teams and wins more despite its youth. It's nice to have a lot of hope moving forward despite our record this season.
