Wet Saturday

There arent alot of things that I want the government to be my resource on
however when it comes to weather prediction they're pretty good.

As many have said there will be better detail in a couple of days

National Weather Service

Stanzi seems to be more at his best when he doesn't have to battle the wind.

Other than that, poor weather conditions still typically work to the advantage of the better offensive squad. To that effect, I'm not certain which team that would be considering that each squad is a veritable mirror image of the other. I suppose that the key difference is that Wisky is better at running the ball, whereas Iowa is better at passing it. Otherwise, both Os are pretty darn balanced.

Rain and wind would probably kill any long passing game, which Iowa probably needs to win this game. Does not look good,forecast-wise. Shaping up to be a running game, which favors Wisconsin....damn!!!

Let's not just give WI the game yet because of rain. I honestly dont' remember the year, but i'm pretty sure WI came to Iowa City running the back of Ron Dayne and we completely shut them down on a not so favorable day. Think he ran for 30 yards or something total. Maybe it was a perfect day, but the point still stands....just cause WI can run the football, doesn't mean they will be able to.

If we truly think Iowa has the better football team, then some rain shouldn't matter. Let's not use this as a excuse if we were to lose. If we want the Rose Bowl, we find a way to win.

so the rain could effect iowa's passing game, but not wisconsin's? pretty sure both teams need to be able to throw the ball to move it an inch. if both teams are only able to run, it will be a boring game watching them 3 and out all day because the defenses can focus on stopping the run.

passing will be fine and we will own this game

This is the problem with the new turf...even in rain,it will be good footing for running the ball, which is clearly Wiskys strength, but passing in the rain is never easy, which is Iowa's strength. In the Dayne game, footing was not great, and it hurt the running attack. Best of all worlds for the Badgers,if this forecast holds up...pray for dry and calm conditions,Hawk fans.

It's not going to be a downpour. It's going to be scattered showers. Both teams have to deal with it, so no excuses for the losing team.

Rain favors the better defensive team, which would be us. It's going to be a low scoring game, just have to hope our special teams delivers.

There is still two days for the forecast to change, and even then it's not 100%. I remember a Sunday last summer when I had a golf tee time scheduled a couple of weeks in advance. As the day approached the forecast kept getting worse. Finally, Sunday arrived and there was supposed to be a 70% chance of rain for the day, it turned out to be one of the nicest golf days of the year. Partly cloudy and not a drop the whole round. Don't let the weather people get to you. There is still plenty of time for the forecast to change.

Acuweather hourly forecast says rain will stop at 11:00 and begin again at 5:30. I'm alright with that. One thing I've noticed is that the predictions for the temps have been going up. Warm rain better than cold.

Boys when will you learn....wunderground has been very consistent all week...now it is up to 65% chance of rain
WUNDERGROUND
By the way I think the rain has no effect on the players...but I am just bringing it up so you guys all bring your rain gear...If you are dry you can enjoy the game much more then the alternative.

If my memory is right we went to Wisky in 2005, night game that was raining the whole time and passed the ball around and won the game. I dont think the rain will hurt the passing game that much, if its very windy then that could hurt, but I dont think the rain will matter much.
